The Role:
• Ensure that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with in accordance with agreed procedures & standards. Ensure that the Client business drivers and client performance incentives are understood & complied with.
• Maintain technical integrity.
• Production of cost effective Piping engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books in conjunction with other members of the project team in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support the Lead Engineer in department activities.

Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
• Supervision of assigned discipline personnel including Piping Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Designers.
• Give technical direction and guidance to engineering and design personnel

Main Duties:
• Coordinate the execution of Plant Layout and Piping engineering activities (Concept, FEED, Technical Study & Detailed Design) for the client.
• Ensure that the technical competence of Piping personnel under their supervision is matched to the work in hand
• Ensure that the work output of Piping personnel under their supervision complies with the relevant client, national & international standards & procedures. This will be generally be achieved by applying the client checking & approval procedure for all created documents, & calculations.
• Provide technical assistance to Piping personnel as required. This will include developing the knowledge and skills of the Piping personnel, including mentoring.
• Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
• Be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU Directives
• Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules.
• Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Piping activities
• Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required
• Providing documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines
• Producing cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe
• Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required
Assist the Lead Piping Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
• Shall take into account all aspects of the "Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)",
• Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures.
• Comply with the client Safety Management System
• Take part and contribute to construction risk assessments and construction method statements
• Take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with client Safety Management System

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Preferred chartered engineer status Minimum criteria for consideration for selection as an Engineer is one of the following or a combination of:
• Qualifications such as a mechanical degree or HND or HNC
• A career progression from skilled mechanical trades or designer to an engineer position, which must be demonstrable.
• Conversant with ASME B31.3, BS8010, BS EN 13480, ASME B16.5, API 6D, etc.
• Conversant with ASME VIII & BS EN 13445
• Fully conversant with material and valve properties and selection techniques
• Conversant with Engineering software including Word & Excel
• Current offshore medical certificate
• Skilled engineering experience, including considerable oil and gas related experience

• Capable of representing client and Client to business associates in a professional manner
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Team player
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications
• Displays confidence in own abilities and is motivated to deliver
• Ability to investigate and interpret data
• Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances
• Ability to motivate and supervise other discipline personnel
