• Min 6 month contract, with a view to 12 months

Our Client is seeking and experienced Senior Piping Engineer with the ability to assess piping systems designs ensuring they are in accordance with Industry Design Codes, using a combination of PC based stress programs, manual calculations and experience. The successful candidate will adopt a practical approach to pipe stress problems and be familiar with working in multi-disciplined teams and experience in checking piping drawings, preparation of piping specifications and data sheets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:
• The coordination and implementation of Piping engineering including pipe stress work.
• Maintaining design integrity and quality within the asset team.
• Appraisal, training and development of personnel.

You will be capable of assessing pipe routings with regards to stress and supports, and have a practical and hands on approach to the position.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Significant experience in Piping Stress Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry and/or Petrochemical Industry
• Posses a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proven background / knowledge in piping layouts, piping design procedures, pipe wall thickness calculations, branch connections and equipment nozzle load calculations
• Working knowledge of Industry Piping Codes, Australian Standards etc.
• Experience in piping stress analysis using CAESAR II and manual calculation methods
• Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrated performance as a team leader is preferred.
• Offered on local conditions, candidates must have existing rights to work in Australia
