The Role:
Our Client, one of the world's leading producers of LNG, are looking to appoint a Senior Piping Engineer for their team in Taiwan. This is a dual location role where the first 18 months of the contract will be based in Taiwan then the team will be relocated to Qatar for another minimum 18 months.

Typically the Senior Piping Engineer will support the Project Management Team during the detailed engineering, construction and commissioning phases of the Project.
Ensuring that the piping design and installation works meet the Project safety, environmental, operational, quality, cost, design, and schedule objectives


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
* A degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering
* Substantial Refinery Project experience
* 10-15 years experience in all project phases including piping design, procurement & construction
* 5-10 years field experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in the Middle East
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Engineering Lead in coordinating/communicating various issues which affect the piping engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work.

Facilitate and coordinate all piping technical work products,responsible for technical input on facilities sharing/allocation issues.

Evaluate work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to ensure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of piping design drawings, documents, and specifications.

Steward piping engineering queries from the Contractor and sub-contractors as well as technical information requests.

Contribute to the development all of Project Report and protocols to ensure a successful GATE compliance review.

Keep the Engineering Lead informed of piping engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns.

Participate in piping engineering and design reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations.

Participate in kick-off meetings with the EPSCC contractor and PMT to ensure common understanding of engineering requirements, including deliverables.

Conduct project team member briefing sessions with respect to piping engineering requirements and processes.

Coordinate owner and PMT piping engineering portions of design reviews to minimize disruption of the contractor's work.

Ensure that all affected parties are familiar with engineering execution plans, procedures, objectives, and overall job requirements.

Ensure that the contractor employs the appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software and adheres to all appropriate specifications and standards.


Key Skills / Attributes:
* A degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering
* Substantial Refinery Project experience
* 10-15 years experience in all project phases including piping design, procurement & construction
* 5-10 years field experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in the Middle East
* Excellent understanding of project technical requirements
Experience of working with Government Agencies, Contractors & Vendors
* Ability to work to strict deadlines
* Fluent in English
* An analytical, interpretative and constructive thinker
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
