The Role:
An opportunity exists for a Senior Piping/Layout Engineer to join an established team on Teesside. This is a key role in the Piping and Plant Layout Group. In this role you will enjoy being both proactive and hands-on, whilst also taking a leadership role in supporting the group’s objectives across EPC, PMC and FEED scopes of work.

The Senior Piping/Layout Engineer will deliver effective consultancy layout support into projects through providing sound advice and undertake discipline audit and due-diligence type reviews, while also providing discipline training, updating of procedures and standards and developing innovative plant layout techniques.

•Experience of unit and equipment level layout through all project phases and particularly in the early conceptual study, pre-FEED and FEED phases
•Proven experience in the onshore oil and gas industry, with possibly some exposure in other environments and process plant sectors
•Require a cost-focussed approach so that the layout minimises plant installed costs, whilst ensuring that constructability and operational safety and maintenance requirements are appropriately addressed
•Structured approach setting the basis of design with our clients
•Provide quality and innovative plant layout and produce deliverables and technical reports that provide sound and documented reasoning
•Recognise and influence client expectation levels, the desire to surpass these, whilst recognising budget and schedule targets
•Present and discuss plant layout issues with various audiences, including prime project stakeholders in a highly professional manner providing sound constructive advice
•Ability in the use of industry wide 2D and 3D CAD systems, especially PDS
•Experience in accurately exchanging data such that designs can be developed and delivered quickly

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline and a member of a relevant professional body or institution
Extensive use and knowledge of PDS (Plant Design System), with PDMS (Plant Design Management System) also useful
Expertise in specific processes or in constructability strategies such as modularisation
Experience working on conceptual, FEED or EPC projects and studies within the following disciplines; Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), Power Generation Plants, Off-Shore and Pharmaceutical

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of training and mentoring junior staff members
