The Role:
The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator is a member the project team reporting to the Business Manager and provides support to the entire Project Leadership Team. The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator is responsible for the development, evaluation and maintenance of the project plans and master schedules based on input from project technical/commercial functions, vendors and contractors, as well as implementing project standards and procedures. This position provides support to the Business Manager Project Leadership Team including, but not limited to:

•To provide a full planning, work management and analysis of the scope of work assigned including resource level management, productivity measurement (actual vs planned), logistics assessment and effect on schedule and procurement activities in alignment with contracting and procurement data;
•Provide the project team with schedule reports as required including weekly and monthly updates, actual progress vs. baseline, look-a-heads for the next period, resource histograms, progress 's' curves, areas of concern and suggestions of possible mitigation measures;
•To ensure plans are tracked and reported. Evaluating, analyzing, highlighting and offering solutions to trends that may result in schedule slippages;
•Monitor and forecast the progress of activities in contractors’ work schedules, highlight problem areas and recommend remedial actions;
•Evaluate critical paths in the project schedules and evaluate alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems before and during execution;
•Perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives and present risk-based analysis of most likely completion and expected deviation range;
•High level of interface with Cost Control Function;
•Maintain all plans in readiness for monthly reporting;
•Ensure that all interfaces are identified, agreed and reviewed with management on a weekly basis;
•Ensure that all short term critical tasks are reviewed with management on a weekly basis;
•Maintain close liaison with other departments, Contractors and Project Management Team members.

The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator is responsible for managing all planning, scheduling and reporting activities of the Project. The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator serves as a key member of the project team, tasked to ensure world class capital stewardship, consistently apply lessons learned and best practices, and foster an environment of Incident and Injury Free. The project will transition to phase 3 in late 2011, requiring a full time Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator during FEED to participate in the development and maintenance of the Contractor’s integrated schedule, mentor national Planning Analysts, provide guidance and direction to Contractor’s planning personnel as needed and commence the phase 4 planning activities. The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator must assure that the project schedule aligns with the project’s success factors and will be accountable for leading all planning activities through Phase 3-4 of the Project. This position will require close coordination with engineering & design, operations, partners and the construction contractors.

The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator will be responsible for providing full planning and scheduling support to the Business Manager Project Leadership Team.

Work Processes: Demonstrated experience in the use of Primavera (P6), Milestone Professional, Microsoft Office applications and use of data base systems. Planning and Organizing. Demonstrated experience meeting critical project schedules using work force planning across multiple construction contractors.
Behavioral/Organizational Competencies: Demonstrated Way Behavior, Ability to work with a minimum of supervision, Operational Excellence focus, Self Starter with a high level of initiative and enthusiasm, strong organizational skills and well organized. Skilled in working and communicating with a multi-lingual and multi-cultural workforce. Capable of producing good results working with local engineering/design and construction contractors and resources with less experience and knowledge. Demonstrated history of effectively training and mentoring national employees.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The ability to work as part of a team and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of project management personnel and other departments is essential. The successful candidate must have an advanced knowledge and practical experience of international oil & gas project planning and scheduling and the ability to interact effectively with joint operations, project management and all project functions as well as contractor personnel. The candidate must be flexible, goal-oriented and have strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to work with minimal supervision. They will have a strong understanding of project management and project assurance processes and be an expert in the application of Primavera and Pertmaster.
Educational Background / Qualifications:
This position requires that the successful candidate have the following qualifications and experience:
•Engineering HND (or equivalent): 7 - 10 years either in planning or in project management
