The Company:
Our Client’s engineering division, has been a leader in the design of drilling facilities for offshore platforms worldwide for over 30 years. The company’s 700-strong workforce provides a range of engineering services from pre-project and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through detail design, construction support, hook-up and commissioning.

The Role:
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for the provision of a proactive planning management service for specific projects within the company. Responsibilities and tasks will include:

Management, interpretation and presentation of project planning data
Performance and development of the function within individual project environments
Achievement of Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets
Supervising Planning Engineers and Assistant Planning Engineers
Ensure quality weekly/monthly planning reports are produced for specific company contracts for both internal and external clients
Contribute, where necessary, to contract review meetings
Ensure smooth running of project planning function, dealing with ad-hoc issues and escalating to the Lead Planning Engineer where necessary
Utilise of the Work Management System as the prime project planning software
Check project estimates from a manhour perspective to ensure accuracy and completeness
Manage workload of Project Planning Engineers, where necessary
Assist with the coaching and training of less experienced personnel within the cost team
Measure and report performance of planning reporting function on a monthly basis
Assist Lead Planning Engineer with annual appraisals reviews for appropriate members of project specific planning teams
Develop and manage continuous improvement plan
Provide auditable backup in a consistent manner for all planning activities
Participate in project specific planning audits as required by senior management
Validation of subcontractors and 3rd parties progress
Travel to jobsites and client offices, as required, to interface with the client or subcontractors
