The Role:
The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator is a member of the project team reporting to the Business Manager and provides support to the entire Project Leadership Team. The Sr. Planning Engineer/Coordinator is responsible for the development, evaluation and maintenance of the project plans and master schedules based on input from project technical/commercial functions, vendors and contractors, as well as implementing project standards and procedures. This position provides support to the Business Manager and SGR Project Leadership Team including, but not limited to:
•To provide a full planning/scheduling, work management and analysis of the scope of work assigned including resource level management, productivity measurement (actual vs planned), and procurement activities in alignment with contracting and procurement data;
•Possess Good work experience / expertise / fully conversant with the Primavera P6. And, have experience in Schedule Risk analysis/application.
•Provide the project team with schedule reports as required including weekly and monthly updates, actual progress vs. baseline, look-a-heads for the next period, resource histograms, progress 's' curves, areas of concern and suggestions of possible mitigation measures;
•To ensure plans are tracked and reported. Evaluating, analyzing, highlighting and offering solutions to trends that may result in schedule slippages;
•Monitor and forecast the progress of activities in contractors’ work schedules, highlight problem areas and recommend remedial actions;
•Evaluate critical paths in the project schedules and evaluate alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems before and during execution;
•Perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives and present risk-based analysis of most likely completion and expected deviation range;
•High level of interface with Cost Control Function;
•Maintain all plans in readiness for monthly reporting;
•Ensure that all interfaces are identified, agreed and reviewed with management on a weekly basis;
•Ensure that all short term critical tasks are reviewed with management on a weekly basis;
•Maintain close liaison with other departments, Contractors and Project Management Team members.
•During FEED to participate in the development and maintenance of the Contractor’s and integrated schedule, mentor national Planning Analysts, provide guidance and direction to Contractor’s planning personnel as needed and commence the phase 4 planning activities.
•Must assure that the project schedule aligns with the project’s success factors and will be accountable for leading all planning activities through Phase 3-4 of the Project. This position will require close coordination with engineering & design, operations, partners and the construction contractors.

The ability to work as part of a team and the ability to effectively interact with a variety of project management personnel and other departments is essential. The successful candidate must have an advanced knowledge and practical experience of international oil & gas MCP project planning and scheduling and the ability to interact effectively with joint operations, project management and all project functions as well as contractor personnel. The candidate must be flexible, goal-oriented and have strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Preferable of understanding of project management and project assurance processes. and be an expert in the application of Primavera and Pertmaster.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Engineering HND (or equivalent): 7 - 10 years either in planning/scheduling role.
•Experience on Petrochemical Projects for at least 7-10 years and have worked directly or indirectly for a major oil company.
•Experience in preparing and executing planning control procedures.
•Experience in project start-up sequence and logic planning.
•High level of working knowledge of computer based planning tools, e.g. Primavera P6 as well as Microsoft suite e.g. Excel, Word, Access Data Base and PowerPoint;
•Familiar with planning probabilistic and associated software, the operational aspects of onshore production facilities, operations and downstream activities;
•Must have hands on experience in Engineering and Construction Planning and preferably have worked on a fabrication or construction site;
•Ability to initiate and promote the discipline of cost/planning with other engineering, logistics and operations departments, prepare strategic plans to ensure that the planning tools are cap
