The Role:
A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planning Engineer based in Perth on a contract basis.

The Senior Planning Engineer position is the primary planning support position to one or more Delivery Managers within the Execution team. Delivery Managers have cost and schedule accountability for various subsets of the Downstream Project scope. E.g.Marine, Tanks, etc.

The Strategic Planning Engineer role reports functionally to the Project Planning Manager. The Strategic Planner position is primarily responsible for assuring the quality of the EPC Project Integrated Master Schedule (PIMS) within the Planning Engineer’s assigned scope and to assure effective integration with other elements of the PIMS, applicable subcontractor, module yard, E&P, permitting and vendor inputs.

The job provides input and reviews the project schedule from both construction sequencing and constructability perspectives, including interfacing with the Module Planners and EP planning teams. The position interfaces substantially with counterpart Planners on the EPC team in both Perth and the other Project geocentres. A Primary responsibility will be assisting Delivery Managers mitigate critical or near critical paths in the PIMS, both through continuous activity and structured schedule “workshop” exercises.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Support Execution Team Delivery Managers with schedule and execution plan related issues and to help mitigate critical or near critical paths.
• Assure EPC contractor scheduling deliverables. This is an owner team role auditing and collaboratively assuring the work of an EPC contractor.
• Support project risk management program with respect to execution related risks.
• Participate in Schedule Risk Assessments

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of the oil and gas industry with experience in execution of large scale Major Capital construction Projects (MCPs) Engineering Design & Construction Planning
– Minimum 10+ years working in all phases (design, procurement and construction) of large oil and gas projects; including infrastructure facilities, prefer LNG processing, and marine works
Experience with Australian construction permitting
Thorough understanding of risk management for large oil & gas projects
Proficient in the use and operation of project’s planning application – P6+, other Risk tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as a Project Planning SME shall be knowledgeable with formal project management systems, including the principles and associated processes, practices, or tools.
