The Role:
The Multiphase Pump Project (MPP) Planner/Scheduler will work under direction of the MPP Cost Engineering and Project Services Manager, assisting in developing and maintaining project schedules.

The successful candidate is expected to be located in an engineering contractor’s office in central London, but other locations could include a employer or engineering contractor’s office in the greater London area. The assignment is expected to last through the end of 2016, but may be extended into the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) stage depending on location and candidate performance. Occasional travel to headquarters in Atyrau, Kazakhstan will be required.

• Work closely with Phase 2 engineering contractor to develop and review engineering, procurement and construction schedules, and associated schedule basis documentation.
• Represent scheduling work in assurance reviews with and partner subject matter experts and management.
• Interface with project team members in Atyrau and Houston in reviewing schedules.
• Continue development of owner team schedule, working closely with project team members and functional groups.
• Interface with other planners in Atyrau to provide updates to the Phase 2 schedule.
• Develop schedule management plans for FEED
• Provide input on proposed Work Breakdown Structures.
• Provide planning input to the project controls plans, including plans for analysis of progress and forecasts using Earned Value techniques.
• Coordinate with key vendors to incorporate their schedules.
• Proactively develop relationships, identifies opportunities to add value, and engage team members as needed
• Recommend and implement scheduling systems (e.g., Primavera) for the project, coordinating resources from IT and other functional groups.
• Support project risk assessment and management processes as needed for schedule risk analysis. Prepare and execute risk mitigation plans related to planning and scheduling.
• If assignment is extended through FEED, this position may be responsible for working with the FEED contractor to:
o Work with FEED contractor to transition ownership of schedule, and to set up master project schedule database structure
o Work with operator and Contractor IT to set up company-compliant database server infrastructure.
o Provide leadership and guidance and coordinate work of other planners.
o Monitor major project milestones and report deviations in a timely manner.
o Evaluate critical paths in the project schedules and evaluate alternative schedule options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems.
o Develop and implement plan versus actual progress curves.
o Evaluate allocation of resources and provide resource recommendations to maintain required progress.
o Prepare monthly progress reports summarizing progress and highlighting areas of deviation from plans with recommended solutions.
o Assist team in establishing short and long-term work priorities
o Work closely with cost engineer and accountant for expenditure and value of work forecasting.
o Participate in scheduling coordination meetings.
o Ensure that all planning and scheduling processes, methods and systems are functioning in accordance with the project requirements and expectations
• Perform other pertinent duties as assigned.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 10 -15 years minimum experience with planning and scheduling of large and small multi-discipline oil and gas projects.
• Significant experience in planning engineering and procurement services
• Significant hands-on experience in construction planning of onshore multidiscipline oil or gas projects.
• Bachelor degree preferred, but not required

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Fluency with Primavera Project Manager P6;
• Proficiency in MS Office applications;
• Understanding of flow and logistics required for large engineering and construction projects;
• Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language;
• Thoroughness and careful attention to details;
• Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others;
• Willingness to fully comply with company policies and procedures;
