The Role:
The Senior Process Consultant will become part of the Lake Charles Liquefaction Project Engineering Team, which is responsible for reviewing technical work done by the contractor(s) and providing technical guidance and assurance for the capital project.

The position reports to the Process Engineering Manager, who reports to the GM Engineering.

The main responsibility is to provide technical guidance to the project team in matters relating to process engineering, specifically in the area of LNG technology, and serve in a discipline engineering role, assisting in the supervising of the process design output of the engineering design contractor and consultants.

1. Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Project Director’s accountabilities
2. Provides leadership in addressing process design issues with considerations of cost, schedule, and quality.
3. Maintains a working knowledge of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to process engineering.
4. Interprets and verifies industry standards, guidelines and codes for project deliverables.
5. Establish the requirements for design deliverables relating to process facilities in the area of responsibility
6. Evaluation of process engineering design executed by engineering design contractor(s) and consultants
7. Ensure compliance to all international standards.
8. Support the review of concession requests relating to process facilities
9. Review design deliverables and follow up on comments to ensure they are suitably incorporated.
10. Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SIL and other HSSE-related reviews.
11. Participate in the evaluation of contractor bids for the supply of goods or services .
12. Assist the Process Engineering Manager and GM Engineering in the preparation and review of process guarantees and process liabilities.
13. Undertake a review of previous lessons learned, and the incorporation of relevant lessons learned into the design.
14. Contribute to project risk workshops and follow up on process engineering-related actions relating to risk response action plans.
15. Monitor progress of the development of process engineering design deliverables and propose corrective actions in the event of potential schedule overrun (where necessary, in consultation with the Process Engineering Manager).
16. Undertake inspections of process equipment at various stages of its manufacture, as required.
17. Assist in the preparation of technical and progress reports to support flow of key information to management to assist in decision making.
18. Contribute to the management of change process in terms of engineering reviews and potential changes and variation order proposals relating to process equipment.
19. Assist with the process for design verification by a third party.
20. Participate in peer assists, peer reviews, value improving process workshops and the end-of-stage Engineering Functional Reviews as required.
21. Participate in the procurement process (e.g. ITT requisition packages) through the evaluation of technical submissions.
22. Prepares technical reports related to specific design issues.
23. Reviews and approves process engineering deliverables from the Engineering Contractor.
24. Contributes to development of Design documents including Statement of Requirements, Basis of Design, Scope of Work and Deliverables.
25. Proactively works on best practices, engineering guidelines and internal procedures.
26. Performs process improvement studies, performance optimization, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits and safety studies.
27. Provides support during construction to ensure site technical queries, non-conformances, concession requests are properly resolved.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education and Experience Required:

• Minimum of BS in engineering, BSChE.
• Highly experienced process engineer, that has led teams, with a minimum of 15 years’ project experience in an oil & gas oriented, E/C Company or an Operating company
• Gas processing and LNG experience is required.
• Working knowledge of International Codes and Standards.
• Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, and discipline specific software applications
• Effective communication skill: both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to formulate and communicate sound recommendations

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Professional engineering registration preferred.
