The Company:
Our client, a worldwide oil and gas major is currently looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join their Australian Production Unit (APU) on a permanent basis. The APU manages existing FPSOs, offshore and onshore assets. The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support for all operated facilities.

The Role:
The role requires a detailed understanding of the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of various process and utility systems associated with upstream production facilities, as well as a working knowledge of typical subsea infrastructure.

The Senior Process Engineer shall provide engineering support for process and utility systems associated with all Australia Production Unit (APU) operated facilities and will be responsible as the “System Custodian” for the Safety Critical Systems in his/her field of technical expertise as designated in the APU System Custodian Listing.

The Senior Process Engineer is accountable for modeling HSEC leadership in all aspects of the role. This includes actively ensuring HSEC concerns are properly addressed in all technical aspects of the role (e.g., operations surveillance, facility modification design, etc.) as well as demonstrating HSEC leadership from a personal perspective (e.g., conducting regular site audits, active participation in HSE-related discussions/initiatives, etc.).

This accountability includes provision of day-to-day process/utilities systems surveillance and troubleshooting/problem resolution as required. The Senior Process Engineer is accountable for providing technical engineering support and guidance into “Case to Operate” scenarios, compliance & verification issues, production loss reports, engineering & maintenance change requests, and field development initiatives. In addition, the Senior Process Engineer provides support to APU Technical and Operations Teams in the areas of production optimization and reliability and facility modifications/upgrades.

The Senior Process Engineer works closely with other Surface Engineering discipline engineers and provides support in areas of expertise to other APU teams through peer assists/reviews and ad hoc discussions.

The Senior Process Engineer reports to the APU Facilities Engineering Supervisor.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum 8 years of related engineering experience in the upstream petroleum industry
• Demonstrated competency in Senior Process Engineering techniques and procedures and their integration with overall operation and management of the plant
• Possess a working knowledge of process design standards, relevant codes and recommended practices
• Competent in the preparation and development of Project Design Basis, Process Design and Description, Heat and Mass Balance, PFDs, P&IDs, data sheets and specifications, process calculations, line/valve/equipment sizing, hydraulic and thermal analyses, cost estimation, and project scheduling
• Competent in facilities and pipeline simulation tools (e.g., Hysys, Pipesim, Olga, etc.)
• Demonstrated teamwork and influencing skills
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated expertise in problem solving skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of reservoir production engineering and well completion design
• Conversant with production and well operations and associated engineering disciplines
• Experience in Project Economic Evaluation
• Knowledge of CAPEX and OPEX estimating
