The Company:
Our Client is an international energy service company leader in both marginal field developments, in life-of-field engineering and in production support.

The Role:
Accountability:

o To take ownership of assigned project modifications and deliver engineering deliverables to the agreed timescale, with adherence to the company, client and national / international standards, being responsible for the Process Design and Technical Integrity across assigned projects in line with the backup of the company QA / QC requirements of checking and approval by others.
o To check and verify process design work of others, as requested
o Able to work as part of a team and assist the Lead Engineer with the delivery of the modifications to a high profile fast track modification.

Supervisory and Managerial Duties:

o Supervision of assigned discipline personnel including Process Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Designers.
o Give technical direction and guidance to engineering and design personnel

Main Duties:

o Ensure that the technical competence of Process personnel under their supervision is matched to the work in hand
o Ensure that the work output of Process personnel under their supervision complies with the relevant company, Client, national and international standards & procedures. This will be generally be achieved by applying the company checking and approval procedure for all created documents, and calculations.
o Provide technical assistance to Process personnel as required. This will include developing the knowledge and skills of the Process personnel, including mentoring.
o Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
o Be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU Directives
o Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules.
o Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Process activities
o Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required
o Provide documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines
o Produce cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe
o Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required
o Assist the Lead Process Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

o Shall take into account all aspects of the "Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)",
o Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures.
o Comply with the company Safety Management System
o Take part and contribute to construction risk assessments and construction method statements
o Take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with the company Safety Management System
o Participates in project safety and design reviews as required, including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and risk assessments in accordance with the company design risk management procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education & Qualifications:

• Minimum BSc/ BEng/ MEng in Chemical Engineering.
• Preferably chartered (CEng or equivalent) and member of relevant professional institution, or working towards chartered status .

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:

Experience in the following areas would be preferable:

• HAZOP / HAZID / SIL Review
• HYSYS Simulation Steady State
• HYSYS Simulation Dynamic
• Flare analysis (Flarenet)

Should possess necessary offshore certification and be able and willing to carry out occasional offshore visits, as necessary

Experience:

• Previous process design experience within a similar role, gained in the UK or Norwegian offshore oil and gas industry

• Capable of representing the company and Client to business associates in a professional manner
