The Company:
Our client is a global group of energy and petrochemicals companies with around 93,000 employees in more than 90 countries and territories. Their innovative approach ensures they are ready to help tackle the challenges of the new energy future.

The Role:
This role is to carry out Process Engineering in support of Upstream Development. PTU/E has a team of Concept Engineers engaged in Upstream Development studies and consultancy level engineering skills to the business. PTU/E works with its UI, NBD and Exploration customers to deliver the highest return on investment from their hydrocarbon opportunities by:
- Identifying and selecting the optimum facilities concept by working in and leading integrated discipline/business teams.
- Optimising the asset performance throughout its lifetime.
- Finding innovative and cost effective engineering solutions that are integrated into the TECOP spectrum, to unlock reserves and to optimise and improve production capacities of the surface facilities.

Most of the Upstream Development Study work is in the Identify and Assess and Select ORP phases leading to the acceptance of a Field Development Plan by the appropriate Decision Review Board. Consultancy is also provided across the project lifecycle with an increasing workload in very early, pre-DG1 phases and in later phases for trouble-shooting, de-bottlenecking and Production System Optimisation.
Projects are usually high profile, strategic business opportunities in complex business environments, the facilities Capex of which are often in the range of one half to one billion dollars. Such work requires our Concept Engineers to play key roles in Integrated Work Teams (i.e. surface/subsurface, Upstream/Downstream) that may develop to leadership of such teams over time.

2. Carry out conceptual engineering and optimisation studies in order to define engineering projects in terms of technical scope, cost execution strategy and duration.
3. Co-ordinate internal and external interfaces and manage their resolution.
4. Deliver preliminary process designs and models for production systems.
5. Maintain and develop skills and to pass on knowledge and experience to other team members.
6. Collective team performance is measured in terms of customer satisfaction and demonstrable value.
7. Any previous experience in the development of difficult hydrocarbons (EOR, tight gas, sour gas, CBM, CCS) will be a benefit.
8. Occasional to frequent travel may be required, depending on the work at hand.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and Qualifications required
Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
Gained experience as process engineer in the HC industry relevant to FE study team activities.
A high degree of skill in relevant process engineering skills for the upstream and front end engineering.
You should be a technical professional with a solid technical background, good communication and inter-personal skills coupled with strong hands-on operating experience.
You will need to demonstrate the attitude to develop and be effective across a wider skill spectrum (technical, commercial and interpersonal).
