The Company:
The client is a significant oil and gas explorer, and producer, with major producing assets in Australia, the United Kingdom, the Gulf of Mexico (US), Algeria, Pakistan and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Role:
In this role you will be responsible for the following:

• Serve as a system custodian for process engineering-related safety critical systems. Monitor system performance against safety case performance standards and assess or rectify any identified deficiencies to system integrity.
• Function as a Process Engineering technical authority in areas of specific expertise providing guidance and input to the APU organization, particularly into management of change processes, risk reviews (HAZOP, HAZID) and root cause analysis activities. Take ownership of key process engineering documentation.
• Daily surveillance of process conditions and liaison with site-based teams to intervene in potential issues, provide troubleshooting support and maintain high level of process safety and performance at each APU production facility.
• Deliver improvements to facility safety and operational performance using management of change processes, where necessary through supervision of external engineering services.
• For a candidate with extensive experience in production chemistry the opportunity exists to manage the chemical treatment programme for APU's two offshore facilities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience and Competencies:

You will have demonstrated competency in process engineering techniques, procedures and their integration with overall plant operation and management. The successful candidate will have particular expertise with operational support for oil and gas production processes and ideally experience with control systems/data acquisition or subsea equipment.
You will also possess a working knowledge of process design standards, codes and practices. Knowledge of facilities and pipeline simulation tools such as Hysys, Pipesim and Olga will be highly regarded.
In addition to your engineering expertise, you'll have strong communication and influencing skills, enjoy problem solving, teamwork and relationship building.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
We are seeking a degree qualified engineer in Chemical engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the upstream petroleum industry.
