The Company:
Our client has been engaged in the exploration and production of natural gas in the Netherlands and the North Sea Continental Shelf since 1964. In the Dutch sector of the North Sea, gas is produced from 22 platforms and 3 subsea production installations. Most of the platforms are unmanned and remotely operated; four have gas treatment facilities.

The Role:
Reporting to the Team Leader Process, the Senior Process Engineer as part of the Field Operations Department Production Support (FOD/PS) will provide assistance to the offshore facilities in order to minimize downtime and maximize/optimize production. Candidate will work independently on day-to-day operational issues. He/she will liaise closely with the offshore based Field Engineer. The Senior Process Engineer will also interact with other departments such as Maintenance Support, Inspection and Corrosion and Well Performance Group. He/she will occasionally supervise external specialist studies executed either by Consultants or by Total’s offices in Paris and/or Pau. The Senior Process Engineer will supervise maybe 1 or 2 engineers if required. Candidate will occasionally be involved in short or mid-term optimization and de-bottlenecking studies in close cooperation with DPD.

MISSIONS :
As part of a team job :
- Define clearly the operational problem and identify the root cause(s) and propose solutions
- Coordinate and execute requests for service and support to Production and Maintenance Support.
- Optimize the operations on the existing facilities - Where applicable implement new technologies were it could benefit the Company
- Liaise with external parties in order to resolve issues offshore.
- If required, initiate and manage external studies required resolve operational issues.

ACTIVITIES : As Senior Process Engineer in his own technical field (Production support)
- Solve daily operational problems and anticipate on operational constraints
- Optimization of the existing facilities via creative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking, organize field tests in order to control or find ways to improve the efficiency of a process piece of equipment - Identify root causes for operational issues offshore and propose cost-effective, practical solutions
- Conduct general or specific studies in the field of E&P installation operation, start-up, operation, OPEX (including problems related to environment) and recommend remedial actions for improvement and or de bottle necking - Support third parties for items related to process (especially in the frame of projects, provide the project teams with best available data concerning the existing facilities).
- Take part in HAZOP/PTR/OPERSAFE sessions and consolidate opinions.
- Provide operating data and simulate cases for the corrosion control on the installation (FAME+)
- Assist on the implementation of new methods and techniques
- Conduct complex operational and process studies.
- Validate reference documents, i.e. procedures, job instructions
- Organise and execute field acceptance test for process equipment
- Prepare, execute and supervise commissioning and start-up operations
- Participate in the selection of contractors/services companies and their staff
- Check and improve the quality of services executed by services contractors
- Performs studies on requests of Petroleum Engineering for new or further developments.
- Ensure follow-up for R&D projects w.r.t. the implementation of new technologies
- Provide operational and methodological assistance to projects executed in the affiliate
- Team member of audits/HAZOP/HAZID /Board of enquiry/Root Cause Analyses
- Perform Process simulations with PRO/II, process and operational studies
- Advises technical management and occasionally senior management
- Coaching of less experienced process engineers
- Initiate and supervise studies to support the development work, e.g. flow assurance, corrosion, dynamic simulations, safety studies, debottlenecking studies
- Participate in design and safety review meetings
- Liaise with the HQ and external consultants As regards studies and assistance, in his own technical field (development studies)
- Identify innovative and cost effective concepts for the development of new potential gas reserves and optimize the field performance throughout its lifetime
- Deliver preliminary concept designs and models for gas production systems - Evaluate different concepts based on investment and operational cost
- Rank the different concepts based on Company’s five business principles in order to select the optimum facilities concept
- Develop new or update existing Pro-II simulations for the different concepts

ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Ensures efficient trouble shooting on process systems to avoid production losses
- Accountable to limit production losses due production stops
- Accountable for process studies, performed by him/herself
- Accountable for acceptance of new or modified process installations, after inspections and/or performance tests
- Accountable for continuous safety improvement - Responsible for the most optimum development of any new gas reserves
- Responsible for optimized production solution from the existing facilities
- Responsible for process studies performed by employee or under his/her supervision
- Responsible that selected concept shall have no impact on environmental emissions.
- Responsible that short, mid and long term solutions proposed are meeting the Company regulations

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Senior Process Engineer with 7-12 years of relevant experience in production support with an oil and gas operating company. Candidate shall demonstrate sufficient experience w.r.t. de-bottlenecking and day-to-day problem solving of existing facilities. Besides, candidate shall show his affinity mid-term production optimization via integration of new wells/production facilities into existing facilities.. Master degree in Chemical Engineering Extensive broad technical/commercial experience in gas production and processing systems Pro-active with good organisational skills, team spirit, strong communication skills (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills English language is mandatory, both spoken and written
