The Company:
Our client is a leading partnership between global business leaders; working on Western Australia’s multi-billion dollar growth plans in. Our client is defining and leading the international natural resources market. We are now looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join a stable and successful team in central Perth.

The Role:
Senior Procurement Officer – Perth, WA - $$ EXC + Bonus + Excellent working environment – Long term contract work. Australian Visa or residency required for this role.

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for the procurement & expediting delivery of equipment & materials to the construction site & that all procedures are undertaken according to company policy.

Specific Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Participate in the assessment and selection of suppliers
• Contribute to & review the scopes of work & contract conditions
• Administer the award of supply contracts for materials & services
• Administering contractual aspects of major supply contracts
• Supervise purchasing officers & support staff as needed
• Ensure that all commercial requirements of the supply contracts are satisfied
• Provide engineering/operations with reports on supplier performance and assist in the resolution of supplier disputes
• Ensuring goods are:

1. Purchased in accordance with the Contract/Procurement Development Schedule
2. Inspected and meet the quality requirements set forth in the SOW, Specs and EDS.
3. Expedited and transported so that the right material is at the right place at the right time.
4. Received, stored and issued to construction contractors safely and in a timely fashion

You will possess a strong attention to detail with the ability to write and review technical reports, establish economic order quantities and have an understanding of commercial / contract law

Most importantly you will have worked with substantial contract procurement packages valued between $2m and $15m with at least 4 years of recognised experienced with a leading EPCM type company or an EPC Contractor.

All their projects are funded by the world’s largest mining operator, meaning that they have a constant pipeline of project work coming through. Contract staff remain with them for 3-4 years on average. They also pay retention bonus. 10% of your salary in year1, 12.5% in year 2 and 15% in year 3 and thereafter. They possess a very low attrition rate and this is down to the supportive nature of the business. They also have a very vibrant social environment with 4 major social events per year, monthly sundowners, cinema tickets, free gym and a number of other social events. Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Substantial contracts procurement experience. You may hold post-secondary qualifications in supply management however skills will generally result from substantial purchasing / supply experience in the engineering & construction industry.
