The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
1. Main purpose of job
To deliver an effective, efficient and responsive procurement service for Nuvia Limited meeting performance, time, quality and savings requirements for direct project related activities in the main but also contributing to bid submission, supplier development, and corporate purchase arrangements as required and directed by the Procurement Manager

2. Position in organisation and key relationships
Senior Procurement Officer reporting to the Procurement Manager.
To interface internally with other Procurement personnel and Commercial Managers, Bid Managers, Planners, Cost Engineers, Estimators, Project Managers and Project Engineers.
Externally with Suppliers and Subcontractors.
Direct 121 mentoring and development of the Procurement team as they grow into more challenging roles as Procurement Officers.

3. Scope of job
To manage Procurement Officers to deliver a range of procurement activities on behalf of the Operational (incl. Services) and Engineering, Corporate business areas, including marketing and tendering if required.
Contribute to and set procurement strategy on project.
Implement Tender processes to maximise competitiveness and efficiencies
To ensure Orders and Subcontracts are requisitioned, approved and placed with our suppliers to deliver services on our projects which provide best value, minimise risk and exposure with appropriate terms and conditions and manage the supply chain process.
Aid development of suitable Tier 3 Suppliers and develop our Supplier database NSURE.
Meet agreed objectives for the department, project and the company

4. Dimensions and limits of authority
To ensure Orders and Subcontracts are requisitioned, approved and placed with our suppliers.

To sign off Contracts on behalf of the Company with a maximum personal delegation of up to £1M ex VAT per single contract following financial sanction by others

5. Qualifications
Qualified as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply Professional Stage [MCIPS]

6. Experience
Demonstrable experience in a procurement role, primarily in a nuclear related industry.

Part 2: Duties and key responsibilities

• To contribute to and set procurement strategy and plans on each project involved.
This will include liaising with Project Managers and those within the team to determine best strategy

• Place and Manage Orders and Supply Chain
This will include reviewing/assessment of new suppliers, sending out and assessing tender enquiries and quotes. Preparing and issuing contract terms and conditions with our suppliers. Placing orders and management of variations, invoices, review supplier performance etc

• Set up Master Order Agreements with our Preferred Suppliers
Agree framework agreements with our major suppliers, put in place orders under these agreements, periodically review the suppliers performance against these agreements.

• Develop relationships with our Tier 3 Suppliers
Proactively develop relationships with potential suppliers, review and assess their capabilities and maintain this information on our supplier database. Continually develop and improve our supplier database NSURE.

• Develop and implement improved procurement procedures and processes
Contribute to the development, issue and implementation of new procurement procedures across the business.

• Provide Training and On the Job advice to Procurement Officers
• Deliver Procurement Objectives % importance
