The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas company within Australia and is the largest producer of gas to the domestic market within the country. Active for more than 40 years, they have the largest exploration portfolio by area and are currently listed as one of Australia's Top 30 Companies.

The Role:
The Project Completions Engineer’s primary function is to coordinate and manage both Company and Contractor project completion personnel and activities from within an Integrated Completions team environment.

These duties will be performed on site in Gladstone utilizing company and contractor personnel ensuring the agreed completions process and procedures are followed thus providing safe, expedient and comprehensive completions management which will support the accelerated critical path project schedule.

The incumbent’s main function will be to coordinate Company and Contractor completions, construction, engineering disciplines and project controls technical expertise in order to ensure that the Project is executed according to agreed design requirements, and Commissioning Critical path schedules. Specifically the incumbent will:
• Ensure that all completions work is conducted in a safe and environmentally acceptable manner.
• Ensure that a consistent approach is taken to all completion activities by both Company and Contractor personnel.
• Provide consistent and accurate review of check sheets/sign off sheets for QC and pre-mechanical completion have occurred prior to the scheduled acceptance review begins which will result in minimized review periods for all review groups thus shortening the completions process.
• Ensure that uninterrupted start up activities is included in completion activities as required.
• Establish the requirements for mechanical completion certificates and approvals.
• Coordinate with the Contractor’s team to ensure that the electronic completions management system matches the project completions and handover requirements
• Ensure that the Technical Compliance Manager, Commissioning & Start-Up Manager and Lead Discipline Engineers are aware of and manage their obligations for completion and sign off of the following: Punch List verification, Walkdowns, reviews within the agreed time allotted
• Communicate to the Company & Contractor Punch List Engineer Punch List Engineer(s) the punch list critical path items which required clearance a verification to maintain the facility completions critical path schedule.
• Meet with Construction, Commissioning & Operations group(s) as needed to mitigate and resolve conflicts in the punch list clearance and verification process and resolve conflicts.
• Keep the Technical Compliance Manager fully informed on matters related to their area of responsibility so that decisions can be made based on the best available information in a timely manner, and highlight those issues which have an impact on the Project critical path schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Contractor personnel, Project members and team which will result in effect communications and confidence in the Project Completions Process

Provide verbal and written reports as necessary in order to communicate such information.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Professionally-qualified Engineer
At least – 10 -15 years Project Engineering experience
Significant experience in the following areas is required:
• LNG facilities.
• Major international projects.
• Management of Completions activities on large, dynamic and time critical projects.
• Facilitation of integrated Completions department(s) in diverse international environment(s).
• Project Engineering, Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Operations knowledge and experience.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The incumbent shall also:
• Be able to cope in a positive and productive manner within a high-pressure environment as expected in a large Project with an aggressive critical path schedule.
• Have the ability to positively respond & manage shifts in project completions scope with minimal response time.
• Be time and schedule concise of Milestones and those activities required to support their achievement.
• Have the ability to utilize personnel from diverse back grounds and international communities to facilitate completions activities on multiple levels of project scope.
• Have knowledge and experience in personal computing skills, including Microsoft Office suites & mainstream completions software systems.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism, standards and discipline in his work.
• Have good oral communication abilities and writing skills in the English language.
