The Company:
Our client is one of the world's largest integrated energy companies conducting business in countries all around the globe. They are engaged in every aspect of the crude oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production, manufacturing, marketing and transportation, chemicals manufacturing and sales, geothermal, power generation, renewables and advanced technologies.

The Role:
The position advertised is within the onshore projects team, and is accountable for delivery of all project scope associated with the onshore portion of the field production system – centred around the Nyhamna onshore gas processing facility. The portfolio of project includes a number of Minor Modifications projects and the large Nyhamna Expansion project. This main project is a large expansion project which aims to install inlet booster compression and also provide a tie-in for the planned Polarled pipeline which extends up into the Polar circle – it is currently estimated to be the largest onshore industrial project in Norway. The project will expand the capacity of the Nyhamna facility, cementing its position as a key strategic asset in the Northern European gas supply system. The chosen execution method for the Expansion Project is a highly modularised build method. The modules range in size from 20 tonnes to 3000 tonnes and will be fabricated in a range of facilities around the world. The Onshore projects team is set up with an overall Project Manager and key Department Heads in Engineering, Module Construction, Site Construction and Commissioning – as well as the usual support functions. The project team has entered into an EPCm contract with Kvaerner for the delivery of onshore projects scope – including the large expansion project. The position will initially report to the Construction Manager – Modules and as such play a key role in the effective delivery of the offsite scope (Module Construction, Logistics incl. marine heavy lifts, Workpack Generation)

- To provide Project Engineering support the Construction Manager
- Modules in delivering the circa 4 mln mhrs of offsite scope including
- Ensuring the HSSE-SP Plan is strictly adhered to and to Show Up as an effective leader on HSSE-SP issues
- Accountability for delivery of module construction scope for the schedule-critical shutdown in April 2015
- Working with Kvaerner to ensure mobilisation planning is effective and coordinated
- Manage compliance with management systems and assurance processes e.g.value improvement practices, permit and consents, change control and interface control within the team and with key stakeholders
- Framing, preparing for and coordinating key assurance events as defined in key governing documents eg. Project Assurance Register, Project Quality Plan etc
- Focal point for Risk Management within the team
- Being a Right Hand for the Construction Manager
- Modules incl. Co-creating strategy responses to issues and standing-in during leave periods
- Contractors interfacing
- Frequent travel required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- More than 10 years experience in oil and gas industry project management.
- Clear commitment to HSSE Leadership
- Previous involvement in similar role/environment
- Proven commitment to delivering Quality results within time and budget
- Experience with EPC, EPCm contract management on both Client and Contractor sides
- Experience from working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Norwegian language ability is an advantage
