The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Project Manager for an Oil & Gas Operator

Duration: 18 months rolling contract
Location: Surrey for 12 months then out to Azerbaijan at the end of 2014
Working Hours: 40 Hrs a Wk in the UK then on a 6/2 rotation for Azerbaijan
Day Rates: Negotiable
The Senior Project Engineer (Offshore Pipelines) will be a key member of the Pipelines PMT which is responsible for delivering the offshore pipeline systems in accordance with
Q&HSE expectations. The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing a high value pipe coating contract and execution of pipe coating scope at a number of coating facilities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective execution of project scopes and communication of project goals and expectations,
Provide exemplary leadership to the contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery,
Provide coaching and development of direct reports,
Ensure the line-pipe coating contractor(s) has a competent organisation and a high standard of resources in-place to successfully execute the work,
Manage the contractor project execution performance and scope delivery,
Maintain awareness and promote conformance to companies expectations and requirements of Safe Design and Quality Build within the construction team and the contractors,
Promote, demonstrate and ensure compliance with all appropriate elements of the global, Operating Management System (OMS), including Risk Management, Continuous Improvement and Management of Change,
Track and manage technical risks, drive integrity and reliability through company processes such as TRAP’s, constructability reviews, FMECA’s,
Maintain close contact with the Project Management network to ensure relevant lessons and practices are evaluated for applicability to the project and implemented as appropriate,

Management of Pipe Coating
Manage the line-pipe coating scope delivery for the Export and Infield Pipelines which will include:
Managing the coating contracts to deliver the coated pipe on schedule and within budget
Managing the coating contractor’s project management and engineering teams,
Managing the site teams at contractor facilities,
Integration with the M&SS team to ensure the development of a robust execution strategy,
Managing the contractors engineering and procedure development to assure timely delivery of approved procedures for coating start-up
Readiness planning & the co-ordination of pre-start assurance checklists prior to campaign execution.
Maintaining close contact with the engineering team to ensure timely approval of queries and approval of contractor documents,
Managing the coating works in accordance with Q&HSE expectations,
Managing the delivery schedule including daily management during execution,
Manage the delivery of the coated pipe in-country and facilities for load-in and load-out on to the pipe-lay contractor’s vessels
Providing input to the M&SS integrated schedule and synergies across delivery groups,
Managing and tracking of contract costs including the assessment of contractor variations, invoices and deliverables,

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering degree and professional status accreditation with a recognised institution
A minimum of 5years proven capability of managing high value contracts
An awareness of line-pipe coating processes and application is an advantage but not essential
Exhibits understanding of engineering and construction practices and the latest international standards that assure integrity of build and construction quality,
Proactively demonstrates sophisticated decision-making and leadership skills needed to address complex stakeholder groups and issues associated with Major Projects,
Ability to intervene in critical situations in order to redirect focus and achieve the required result,
A high level of proven communication, interpersonal and people management skills,
Financial and commercial awareness,
Self-motivated,
Computer literate
