The Role:
2. ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Senior Project Engineer (SPE) is responsible for the delivery of solutions to meet
client challenges. Operating within the project team the SPE will provide Project
engineering and Operational support to the Project team.
The SPE may be required to work independently to manage and deliver projects as
well as integrating within the team as required.
As required, the SPE will work directly with the client to gather information or
during a project to discuss progress and technical matters.
The SPE will also be required to lead projects and manage team members. A good
degree of subcontractor management is also expected. The focus of the SPE will be
delivering the project whilst contributing the content and deliverables to some
degree.
A typical project would require the SPE to understand the scope and requirements
of the project, share with the team where appropriate and kick off the required
tasks. Monitoring and reporting of progress to both management and clients.
Preparing the technical and operational aspects of the project and obtaining
approvals on methodologies and procedures. Provide support through the
operational phase of the project and complete the close out process internally and
externally.

3. EXPERIENCE
The SPE will have been working for at least ten years within the Oil, Gas and/or
Renewables areas either within a consultancy, equipment or service company.
With experience in managing and engineering projects within a wide range of
environments, the SPE will have experience working with various levels of and types
of objectives.
4. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The SPE will be responsible on a day to day level for the following:
 Managing subcontractor and client relationships;
 Responsible for technical and operational delivery;
 Reviewing subcontractors proposals;
 Preparing subcontractor purchase orders;
 Project management and administration;
 Supervision of small teams on projects;
 Reviewing subcontractor invoices;
 Preparing invoices;
 Where appropriate, mentoring junior staff;
