The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) on a rotational basis for an Oil & Gas Operator within Kazakhstan

Location: Aktau
Duration: 12 months+
Rotation: 6/2
Day Rate: £750GBP+ (Negotiable)
Accommodation: hotel provided
Flights: Provided


Candidates will have experience of working on Utility systems such as potable water, industrial, fire, water, electric, & wasterwater collection, improvement of roads & street lighting.

Responsible for all the engineering and procurement activities and their timely completion during the project
Provides leadership to all client and contractor’s project participants and helpsfocus their efforts in order to optimize the planning effort, resource utilization and efficientexecution.
In coordination with the Engineering Manager, clearly establishes the work scope, schedule and cost for the project and communicate it to the Project Team and Engineering Contractor.
Deputises for the Engineering Manager in his absence due to business trips or vacations.
Determines optimum engineering staffing requirements to meet the project milestone dates and report to the Engineering Manager on any deficiencies.
Ensure all project information related to design, procurement and construction is accurate and timely.
Reviews and communicates progress and performance status to the Engineering Manager, flagging any potential slippage and areas of concern.
Ensures adequate focus on inherent safety in design, reliability, availability, maintainability, constructability and consideration of safety in construction and operation is included in the design.
Ensure that design packages, drawings, specifications, data sheets, procedures and other engineering deliverables are transmitted by the Engineering Contractor to enable the timely planning, contracting and efficient field execution.
Implement procedures to ensure engineering standards and practices are followed on all project work.
Provide engineering assistance to the project planners on questions related to materials, scope definition, and field coordination.
Responsible for the application of project controls across the execution of engineering activities including adherence to project controls processes by the Engineering Contractors.
Establish acceptance criteria for engineered equipment and accept constructed facilities before their turnover to start-up team for commissioning.
Apply appropriate VIPs, gather and apply lessons learned, best practices.
Assist in IPA assessments and assist with Project peer review/assists.
Act as the focal point for all technical decision making. This will include assigning of individuals to specific problems as they arise and ensure quick and effective solutions are developed, communicated and executed.
Provide engineering review of all extra work requests and inform Engineering Manager on areas of growth.
Ensure engineering support for Field Construction Personnel.
Review all required engineering changes during the project construction phase and provide recommendation to Engineering Manager on acceptance.
Ensure optimized use of owner and contractor’s engineering resources during field execution phase.
Interface with Construction Manager to ensure quality of work for constructability, operability, maintainability, and technical intent on Project.
Report to and assist Engineering Coordinator.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
FUNDAMENTAL requirement - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline - for visa purposes(applicants without a degree will NOT qualify)
10 years + experience in similar role within Oil & Gas Industry
FUNDAMENTAL requirement - Candidates MUST be under 60 years of age
