The Role:
Role purpose:
To act as a single point of contact with all stakeholders. On receipt of Tender process, to be the focal point in interacting with the support functions in presenting a professional tender submission in line with client’s specifications and requirements and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for:

• Securing of new projects either through existing or adjacent markets.
• Develop an off-shore team to meet our business plan objectives.
• Delivering projects within budget and programme in line with processes and procedures.
• Ensure that all projects and designated duties are successfully carried out in accordance with safety, technical and legislative policies and procedures.
• Full understanding of the UK regulatory and legislation governing the Electricity industry.
• Ensure performance is measured correctly and issues are responded to in the most reasonable and economical way.

Key Responsibilities:
• Regular site tours to ensure highest standards are maintained in delivery successful projects within time.
• Detailed planning and management of any works within a given area, delivering high productivity in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all work is conducted safely and in compliance with company policies.
• Actively seek new opportunities within existing and adjacent markets.
• Develop an off-shore strategy and resource in line with market conditions.
• Find new innovative solutions to deliver projects more effectively in line with SBLF
• Ensure high productivity and efficiency through effective control and utilisation of the contract work force and its resources, operating within the appropriate Safety Management system as defined by HS (G) 65 and the Board of Directors.
• Produce a programme of works for each project to meet delivery timescales and ensure that resources, cost and deliveries are achieved.
• Assess and understand the technical contents and scope of works in the different job packs issued by the client.
• Work closely with back office and commercial management team to ensure that all processes and activities are carried and completed in accordance with the approved procedures.
• Prioritise own workload in order to meet deadlines without comprising quality standards.
• Create and maintain good communication and relationships with, clients, suppliers, councils, staff and members of the public.
• Chair contract meetings held with all parties associated with the works.
• Understand the scope of works and set out a programme of works with the activities established to meet delivery timescales.
• Understand the meaning and allocation of the macro system.
• Assess the level of risk and identify any health and safety risks/ financial risks and the development of the associated contingency plans.
• Procure all staff, plant and materials for each contact as required.
• Attend contract review meetings
• Ensure that all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss incidents are reported as per the company procedures.
• Accept full responsibility for the compliance with the CDM Management of Health and Safety 2007
• Personal safety, safety of all project team members and safety of the general public.
• Complying with all Safety rules, site rules and procedures instructed by others when working on 3rd party sites.
• Provide support to ensure that the project related records are completed, accurate and up to date
• Produce a closure report for each project showing costs and sales.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Proven technical and practical knowledge and experience within the power industry.
• Excellent level of IT literacy, ability to produce detailed project plans with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
• Excellent Presentation Skills.
• Proven experience of management reporting.
• Proven team management experience.
• Proven Knowledge of basic construction Health and Safety.
• Proven knowledge of CDM 2007 legislation.
