The Company:
This role is working for an Automotive Tier One supplier based in Birmingham. This role requires travel within the West Midlands. Expected duration is 3 months. Candidates must be able to start immediately/ in the near future (1-2 week notice period max). Senior Project Management Skills within a Automotive Environment essential, ideally some exposure to Jaguar & Land Rover processes/systems.

The Role:
Reporting to the Projects Manager and working under the guidance of the Head of Project Management and Engineering. The Project Manager is responsible for delivering the successful, cost effective and timely introduction of new customer products from order placement to production buy off and customer acceptance. The Project Manager will apply best Project Management practices. To ensure customer satisfaction at all times. The role will operate as part of multi discipline teams in line with customer requirements and tS16949. This role has the responsibility for managing the cross functional project team for each project.

• Lead all project (APQP) requirements/activities for specific new projects with the support of a multi-discipline team. This will include specification, design buy-off, progress tracking and preparing estimates, assessment of modificiations and final commissioning and customer acceptance

• Ensure that the projects are carried out in a professional manner within the parameters of time and cost set out in the terms of reference, including scheduling and manufacture of trial build parts to ensure customer requirements are met at all phases of the project

• To liaise with customers and suppliers on technical aspects of product development and projects status (timing). Develop strong customer relationships and attend customer review meetings as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Graduate in Production or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years relevant experience in a QS9000 or TS16949 Automotive 1st tier Project Management environment
• Understanding and direct experience of engineering processes is essential
• Ability to Lead, Communicate, Persuade and Influence others at all levels
• Use of best practice Project Management tools and techniques (including establishing terms of reference, project planning, status reporting and managing issues and actions)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Familiarity with Advanced Quality Planning methods and techniques including “APQP Status Reporting”, PPAP submissions and “PSW” requirements including Control Plans, FMEA’s and MSA desirable
