The Company:
Our client, a major international Engineering, Procurement & Construction company, requires expertise for their ongoing mega-projects in Alberta.

This position is open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

The Role:
Responsibilities:
• Establish, maintain and manage project and cost controls
• Establish the project strategy and direct the implementation of the Project Management Plan
• Provide effective management, accountability and control of the designated project(s)
• Work closely with staff to ensure that the project scope, change orders, schedule, reporting a budget are accurately planned, prepared, monitored, communicated and met
• Manage Technical/Engineering Scope of Work with regard to Accountability, Schedule, Performance and Practicality. Provide direction to discipline leads regarding what is to be performed and when
• Oversee the management and coordination of project staff and sub-contractors
• Secure resources for the project and organization
• Provide effective resources and guidance to function/area managers
• Review project staff performance and provide training necessary for staff to achieve or exceed their career objectives
• Manage stakeholder and customer relationships
• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with the customer, vendors, suppliers and all consultants
• Develop, oversee and maintain communication channels with clients, stakeholders and internal personnel
• Develop and establish the organizational structure and define roles and responsibilities
• Establish and communication project objectives, values and drivers
• Provide project input, ownership and presentation of monthly and weekly reports
• Ensure production of the Project deliverables in accordance with the approved baseline
• Establish and Manage Risk and Quality Management systems
• Ensure that all project activities are executed in line with PMP and applicable Government legislation and in compliance with the prime contract
• Ensure effective mechanisms for consultation with employees in respect of HSSE are established. Conduct Quality and HSSE Management Reviews as stipulated in Company Procedures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Minimum 15 years engineering or operations experience with unconventional oil projects and associated processes
• Minimum 5 years increasing responsibility as a project manager
• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
• Diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an asset
• Ability to develop new, proprietary and innovative solutions to current processes
• Willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, for varying durations and at time to remote locations
