The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing a Senior Project Manager – Chemicals to join the North West Office to support our client's large EPCM type projects. These projects vary in location from UK, mainland Europe and the Middle East, with typical sizes ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hours in services.

A current opportunity exists for a large EPCM project to be built in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The Project Manager will be resident in our client's Stockport Office with a planned execution to carry out the majority of the engineering and procurement services in the UK with work-share between our client's Khobar and Mumbai offices. Construction Management will be carried out under our client's Khobar Office supported by the EP team.

Our client's current successful contracts are based on strong relationship management, a culture requiring committed and empowered people using open and respectful communication, being responsive to customer preferences and a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement. The candidate must have a proven track record in successful execution of similar EPCM projects with a Middle East Client.

The key elements of the role are :

Safety – Responsible for personal safety, promoting through leadership the elements of our client's process, working within the HSE procedures.
Ability to take full responsibility for all aspects of a large EPCM project including Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls, Risk Management, Change Management and Construction Management
Candidate would be responsible for delivery of quality documentation on time and within budget.
Proven ability to establish and maintain excellent client relationships
Responsible for issue of accurate & prompt reports to Client and Company
Good communicator with all parties including project internal, Senior Management, Client and Construction
Prepare & input to internal monthly project reviews in conjunction with Project Controls
Control, monitor and progress the design and contract deliverables to an agreed project schedule.
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
Prepare or supervise preparation of proposals and presentations
The candidate would report directly to the Manager of Projects
Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Substantial experience of EPC/EPCM Chemical engineering projects, including managing multi-discipline design activities.
Good written and oral communication skills, demonstrated through client interaction, supervision, proposals and presentations.
Ability to negotiate successfully with clients and contractors through engineering and construction phases of the project.

Candidates must be eligible to work in UK and travel within Europe, i.e. right to work in the UK & Europe must be obtained
Position is for the Stockport office, so candidates need to have a location which permits a reasonable journey into work
Candidates must have actual experience of being responsible for execution of several similar projects.
Remuneration is commensurate with this senior position.
