The Company:
Our client is a world class management and construction consultancy offering the core services of cost and project management.

The Role:
Description of Scope:
Responsibility to ensure delivery of all the engineering, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of a Project (or Projects).
Ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the requirements of the Programme and Customer.

Core Duties:
Provide leadership to ensure the effective delivery of activities in Project(s) under management whilst recognising and managing the impacts of the area on the wider Programme.
Project manage activities relating to design undertaken by the End User, Chief Engineer, Design Partner and Construction Contractor.
Read, understand and administer ECC NEC3 contracts. Discharge Project Manager Delegation of Authority and ensure the proper management of change control for Project(s) under management.
Ensure that all responsibilities with regard to the Customer’s Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards are understood and applied in the Project(s) under management.
Manage and maintain compliance with Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations in the Project(s) under management.
Establishing and manage the interfaces between the Project(s) under management work scope and the work of other areas.
Establish and manage a robust Primevera P6 plan for the Project(s) under management, including the integration of Construction Contractor plans.
Manage the project bid and approval cycle for the Project(s) under management, including the authoring of capex investment business cases and leading life cycle management reviews.
Provide direction and supervision to assigned Project Managers and supporting staff in accomplishing agreed project objectives.
Effectively manage risk and opportunity within the Project(s) under management including the effective implementation of the NEC3 Early Warning Notice mechanism and Risk Reduction Meetings.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience of contractual, legal, financial and safety requirements in a construction project environment and experience of being responsible for administering major standard forms of construction contract (NEC3, JCT, FIDIC, IChemE, etc)
Professionally qualified in construction management, preferably a project management/construction/engineering/quantity surveying degree and chartered status with the RICS/CIOB/RIB/ICE/APM or other equivalent institution
Proven track record of delivering technically complex construction projects from inception to completion in a regulated environment
Knowledge and experience of Client PM governance processes and procedures in a major organisation
Schedule, Deliverables and Proposed Cost

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
SC level security clearance would be beneficial but not essential
