Our client is a large multi-national Oil and Gas Operator which explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulfur. They pride themselves On conducting operations in accordance with world–class safety and environmental standards.

The Role:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a member of the Engineering Team supporting aProject valued in excess of $300 Million which will be commencing FEED mid 2012.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for providing technical as well as project engineering support to the Project during all phases of Engineering:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for:
Technical review of the FEED Contractors Deliverables for mechanical design, focused on the technical designs, specifications, job packs, material take-off lists and technical as well as drawings quality. Ensure that FEED deliverables meets project/Company requirements and Company Engineering Standards. Pro-actively plan and execute Mechanical Engineering work activities.
Support IIF culture within team and champion within FEED & Detailed Design Engineering Contractor.
Support or develop the required documentation to support Project Assurance activities and Approval Gates and participation in these activities as required.
Mentoring and developing the technical skills of Kazakh National staff in the Mechanical group.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Mechanical engineering degree with extensive experience.
Self Starter with a high level of initiative and enthusiasm and strong organizational skills.
Familiar with both Project Management systems and procedures. Familiarity with petrochemical design would be advantageous.
Knowledge in fixed and rotating equipment design and construct. Demonstrates an understanding of a broad range of related disciplines, e.g. process engineering, I&C, electrical,
Experience in witnesses testing and accepts equipment at suppliers’ shop would be advantageous.
Must have demonstrated major capital project experience in project management practices, development and implementation of project procedures, and Project Execution Plan formulation, interface management and quality practices.
Ability to gain alignment and enthusiasm around reaching world class performance. Demonstrated experience implementing sound project procedures and systems including management of change.
