The Company:
My Client is a major Oil-Producing and refining company operating wolrdwide.

The Role:
•Create trust and credibility in the Project’s relations by providing proactive, professional, timely and reliable services in these project(s). This includes: Proactively interact with the project team(s) to secure updated plans for all work executed by the Project / contractor teams. Create and issue the schedules in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project and keep these updated.

•Co-ordinate input from sub project team-planning functions and/or contractors to maintain an integrated master control schedule(s) for projects including providing the Project Service Manager with the list of plans to execute the project, and the hierarchy of these plans.

•Monitor, analyse and report schedule performance against plan and recommend necessary corrective actions and mitigations, when required. Use the change management system for schedule change control and provide accurate and timely input to regular reporting of project status. Assess the impact of approved changes and any deviations from the key project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and ‘What if?’ scenarios to aid project management decision-making.

•Provide the Project Services Manager with monthly progress updates, forecast completions, together with critical path and trend analyses.
•Responsible for input to the Monthly Report, Planning and Performance Review Meetings, including review of critical activities, resource load and variance commentary/areas of concern related to current month performance.

•Provide year end/total project completion forecasts. Work with the Cost Engineer and Cost Estimators to ensure alignment of planning and cost control reporting and requirements.

•Cooperation with risk management to secure adequate input to risk work / probabilistic schedules to determine and communicate the possible range of schedule completion dates for the project. This will include tracking schedule risk mitigation efforts, the criticality of the main paths to completion, float consumption and the release of the 50/50 schedule contingency.

•Be involved in developing the contract key dates, milestones and plan dates for alignment with the overall integrated plan, by evaluating bid schedules and reviewing contractor plans to support contract award recommendations.

•Verify that the contractors’ reported progress is correct and accurately reflected in the project’s integrated plan.

•Responsible for undertaking periodic audits of contractors’ planning progress measurement processes.

•Ensure that necessary project control standards, procedures and work instructions are used. Participate in simplification/ implementation/maintenance of these, including appropriate procedures for Project Planning purposes as part of the Quality Management System.

•Assist with the implementation of Primavera P6 for the Nawara Development Project and liaise with the related responsible functions in the OMV Head Office.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum 10 years of proven experience gained in preparing plans, networks, resource plans, schedules and progress monitoring systems for complex engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning projects in the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry.

•Fully familiar with project control practices and procedures and be able to apply these to complex projects.

•Proven ability to operate with minimum supervision in a project team environment, including good communication and interpersonal skills.

•Very good command of spoken and written English. French or Arabic language skills could be beneficial.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Well developed computer literacy and in-depth experience with relevant cost/planning software packages (including, but not limited to MS Project, Primavera P3 and P6, Milestone Professional) is essential.

•Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and the Web Browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox).

•Willingness to acquire skills in the use of Aconex, the Nawara Project Document and Correspondence Management System.
