The Company:
Our client is a major global energy company with exploration and development projects located offshore Northern Territory and Western Australia. Their Offshore facility located in the Timor Sea sends gas, via a subsea pipeline, to the Darwin Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant to be converted to LNG for export to Asia.

Here in Australasia they work through three business centres, Western Australia, Northern Territory and Timor-Leste.

The Role:
This role based in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia will see you reporting to the Contracts & Procurement Supervisor. You will Carry out the day-to-day requests for the provision of goods and/or services requisitioned from a variety of internal sources Darwin Operations Centre. Secure the acquisition of those goods or services from external providers in a timely, efficient and effective manner, following procurement policy and procedures. And be involved in the formulation and close out of purchase orders in accordance with Company/Department Procedures and Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
• Secure acquisition of goods according to policies and procedures.
• Maximise use of SAP and supporting systems in all procurement activities.
• Sourcing and identification of potential providers.
• Qualification and approval of providers and management of vendor database.
• Managing internal queries concerning purchasing from the internal sources, in particular form the Darwin Operations Centre.
• Prepare requests for Quotation ensuring in the process a superior standard of quality documentation is maintained.
• Document supplier evaluations.
• Negotiate with suppliers.
• Expedite and monitor closely suppliers to ensure on time delivery of goods according to purchase order specifications.
• Timely preparation of commercial and contractual documentation and co-ordination of all other documentation and matters affecting bids and contracts

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Business or Technical discipline
• Min. 5 years SAP experience
• Min. of 10 years in similar procurement role in Oil & Gas / Energy / Hydrocarbon / Petrochemical industries
• Purchasing knowledge of valves; pumps; motors; instrumentation
• Experience established network of suppliers / freight movement / forwarding
• Proven knowledge of strategic sourcing process and total cost of ownership
• Clear and developed numerical communication skills
