The Company:
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a client who are a provider of an diverse and expanding range of infrastructure services. A Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to provide commercial direction, strategy, leadership and support.

The Role:
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor on the project you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Establish and develop processes and controls to provide the necessary commercial service to allow the company to fulfil its contractual obligations regarding notices, valuations and effective administration of NEC3 forms of contract.
• Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc
• Develop a strategy for the defence/application of contractual claims
• Provision of commercial reporting to the Commercial Manager
• Establish and maintain cost and valuation reporting procedures
• Establish and maintain contract administration procedures
• Negotiation and settlement of claims and final accounts
• Initiate and maintain a means of contractual understanding within Project Teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Recognised qualification to at least HNC standard, preferably to MRICS or equivalent
• At least 5 years experience of Quantity Surveying
• Experience of NEC3 and interpreting client adapted forms of standard forms of contract
• Experience in preparation and presentation of compensation events and claims
• Experience in monthly cost/value reporting and cash flow management both with clients and supply chain.
• Computer literacy – Minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience of collaborative working and strong communication skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience working within the gas industry, preferably on pipeline projects.
• Experience/understanding of planning processes and tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project
• Experience of making presentations to groups utilising presentation tools such as power point
