A professional, construction, support and infrastructure services provider working in various market sectors all over the world.

The Role:
Key Accountabilities:
Operationally responsible for cash flow, maximising value and minimising future liabilities. Influence and advise operational staff on the commercial implications of operational decisions in order to achieve the project objectives.

- Full commercial responsibility of the HEMS work stream

- Work closely with HEMS Construction Manager and both Operations Managers ensuring costs are minimised and value is optimised by means of total commercial understanding of the contract and the reporting procedures required to assist operational management and operational teams succeed in these goals

- Build solid relationships with the client at all levels to ensure contract requirements are met by both partners, working collaboratively to reduce cost and maximise value

- Monitor and manage the uploading of information on the client’s SAP systems, keeping to agreed client levels at all times

- Monitor and manage all jobs that exceed capitalisation values and out of scope values in order for the client to manage their budgets in a timely manor and for the contract to maximise the target

- Monitor, manage and create processes of reporting key information vital to both BBUS and the client in managing a successful contract,

- Timely agreement of weekly cost and value reports

- Accurate administration of operational data and job valuation

- Record scheme and gang production and profitability

- Collate financial information for audits

- Provide an estimating service and / or assistance to the Estimating Department for additional and varied works

- Management and Procurement of Subcontractors in accordance with company procedures

- Ensure that wages and sub-contract payments are calculated in accordance with procedure

- Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss incidents on the company statutory forms

- Control and expedite payments from the clients and maintain and keep up to date Contract files

- Maintain good relationships with Head Office, site personnel, the client and the public

- Keep Senior QS informed with respect to contract correspondence and prepare draft response where appropriate

- Ensure that all site staff understand the contract documents, in order to satisfy the client’s requirements

- Monitor progress against the contract programme

- Monitor the contract costs and values

- Compilation of Target Prices and Final Accounts

- Ensure achievement of performance targets for teams are in line with the agreed programme

- Any ad hoc duties required by Managing QS

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Several years experience working in a similar role on target/actual cost contracts ideally water repair & maintenance.
Proficient in general IT applications such as MS Office, with particular emphasis on the management and manipulation of spread sheets in Excel
High degree of commercial awareness
