The Role:
Role
To make a positive contribution, enabling company to continue to grow and operate in an effective, efficient and profitable manner by delivering Innovative market and consumer driven seasoning solutions to our customers.
This position requires a high degree of creativity and ingenuity . Knowledge of protein marinades would also be an advantage. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a proven track record of NPD and product launches across the Asian region as well as a good understanding of the European and North American markets Although this is a senior position with the R&D Department, the role involves hands-on, bench development as well as encompassing elements of mentoring and training of other team members
Responsibilities:
• Hands-on formulation design and application experiment to meet customers’ requirements for NPD, product transfer, competitors’ product matching, optimization and/or cost reduction.

• Competent in handling product trials (lab/production line), presentations (proactive/creative) and product evaluation with customers to expedite approvals.

• Effective networking with customers, suppliers, project leaders in Griffiths Laboratories globally and relevant interdepartmental personnel locally to obtain critical technical information and support towards the success of a project brief. A proven network of key industry players across the Target markets is essential.

• Maintain up-to-date technical documentations/reports which include formulation record, product evaluation, presentation feedback and customer visit/line trial report. As well in assisting in the preparation of initial technical documents for Lab submissions

• Meet project deadlines with professionalism and quality results under pressure. Understand current market needs and keep a constant update of internal or external new technology which will be valuable in product development and meeting customer requirements. This knowledge must be shared with other team members.

• Able to work synergistically in a team and support/mentor team members as needed.

• Optimize the usage of R&D IT tools/systems for technical documentation.

• Provide detailed recommendations for new products, processes, techniques or solutions to problems.

• Provide technical assistance to departments of company, Customers and Clients as required.

• Evaluates, analyzes and tests raw materials, product formulas and food applications.

• Conduct technical training in-house or to customers when required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Practical knowledge of R&D equipment, Blending techniques, industry alternatives and production equipment
Minimum 3 years hands-on experience
B Sc in Food Science or equivalent

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Analytical, logical and structured work approach, computer literate, excellent spoken and ` written communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
