The Role:
I. Job Summary

Provide the technical support required for integrated administration of the oilfields through the exploitation of crude and gas reserves in order to maximize the technical and financial recovery of the fields.

Work with a multidisciplinary team of geoscientists and engineers responsible for the evaluation of new E&P opportunities, the current portfolio and the development of the company fields.

II. Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects related to reservoir engineering including static and dynamic models, evaluation and optimization of field development models, facilities design and economic forecasts, selection and optimization of the recovery process, and risk and uncertainty analyses.
Perform analyses and technical evaluations of the business opportunities being studied, together with the E&P Manager and the Facilities Engineer, to be used as a basis to determine their financial viability.
Provide specialized support from his/her technical knowledge and experience, for the validation of resource potential based on static and dynamic knowledge of analogous fields in the assigned geographic area.
Establish the annualized drilling plan and reconditionings, fluid production forecast in three scenarios, estimate and classify reserves as a result of the development plan's structuring and definition, as well as follow-up on execution of the established plan.
Perform calculations and updates for the Affiliate, company, regarding the volume of hydrocarbons (proven, unproven and contingent resources) and calculations regarding the prospective resource.
Provide technical assistance to the Senior Operations Engineer regarding the balance of reserves in the fields being exploited and/or explored, justifying the variations and reclassifications of the reserves following SEC and SPE guidelines.
Design and follow-up on the execution of formation tests and provide the support required for design and performance of extensive well tests.
Structure and define the initial development plan for a field and/or for growth of new areas and perform calculations of hydrocarbon volumes on-site, reserves and production forecasts.
Create or update static and dynamic models of the fields for which he/she is responsible, required to define the plan to develop them, and monitor the daily development activity in the fields that confirm these models.
Provide the technical support required to define the development strategy for fields operated under joint contracts with third parties, working together with the partner's subsoil department to prepare the static and dynamic models, when required.
Recommend guidelines for the integrated administration of deposits and their development plans, standardizing the methodologies used to estimate reserves and forecast oil and gas production, in order to contribute to the incorporation into the Organization of best oilfield practices.
Recommend and evaluate strategies to optimize the production of fields, leading the definition and implementation of IRO processes (pressure maintenance, water injection, infield drilling, etc.) and EOR (improved recovery).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
III. Requirements

Petroleum Engineer - Specialization in Reservoir engineering or similar areas related to deposits is a plus.
Experience related to job duties:

More than 10 years of experience in building static or dynamic models, definition of field development plans and projects executing field development plans in the GOM.

Must prove recent experience working in reservoir engineering, preferably related to active deep water fields with operator companies in the Gulf of Mexico.

Travel to South America on a frequent basis (once every two months for a one week stay) is required.

Technical Skills:
Fluent English (Spoken and written)
Spanish desired
Reservoir simulation experience as well as running economics (PEEP software).
Solid background in classical reservoir engineering and primary and secondary recovery mechanisms
Use of 3D and 4D seismic data would be a plus.
