The Company:
My client is the largest oil and gas producer in Eastern Europe, with activities in the business segments of Exploration and Production, as well as Gas and Power. They are re-developing a mature oil field and are currently in the beginning of the select phase.
The Company are looking urgently for a Senior Reservoir Engineer for Eclipse (black oil) simulation to join their team of professionals. This is a contract role ( 6-12 months) based in Bucharest.

The Role:
As a Senior Reservoir Engineer you be responsible for the following duties:

Planning and forecasting:

– Participate in Planning of new RDP/FRDP and Field Production Optimization projects.
– Provision of reserves and production forecasts, sensitivities and risk evaluations for projects economic evaluations.
– Formulate alternatively field - reservoir development scenarios tailored to specific conditions
– Participate in planning, monitoring and following-up of horizontal, highly deviated wells.
– Providing calibrated simulation models from special history matching techniques and base and alternative scenarios production predictions.
– Drive projects towards results expected within time, quality and budget constraints.
– Plan and track work related to project goals.

Industry knowledge:

– Keep on track with evolution and new technologies in the reservoir engineering and closely related disciplines field in order to improve performance and reduce costs.
– Document all relevant information to keep the management posted.
– Provide high quality input as member of the multidisciplinary teams to reservoir development projects.

Organization:

– Work within integrated reservoir studies teams, field development teams and implementing teams.
– Assure support and guidance to Asset a in projects implementation production monitoring and analysis to verify compliance with forecast
– Calculate hydrocarbon-in-place and reserves estimations.
– Participate in auditing
– Undertake new & mature field development/redevelopment studies, production forecasting and optimization.
– Undertake development and redevelopment studies of water flood, heavy-oil, and enhanced oil recovery projects as well as involvement in their implementation, management & optimization.
– Perform reservoir and project risk assessments and assist with decision and economic analysis.
– Involvement in reservoir modeling and simulation, well test design & analysis, decline analysis and risk analysis.
– Drawing up feasibility studies for new technology opportunities on Reservoir Simulation within Integrated Reservoir Modeling.
– Providing technical expertise on Reservoir Simulation and Integrated Reservoir Modeling across studies and projects.

Coordination:

– Co-ordinate with Assets and Development BU on the flow of project approval documentation, timing, resources, post implementation results & data documentation.
– Alignment of the activities to other project’s activities and priorities.
– Project leaders to explain technical solution adopted to the stakeholders & government agencies in order to get their approval and keep them informed at each stage of the project.
– Support other colleagues and to mentor the development of less experienced professionals.
– Participate in software and training issues.


HSE duties:

– to ascertain and respect the legislation’s provisions in the field of health and security at work, protection against fire and civil protection as long as their implementation measures;
– to use the equipment of the current and protection activity according to the technical instructions;
– not affect the good functioning, not alter, change or arbitrary remove the security devices in the building where he/she is working;
– to communicate immediately to the employer and/or assigned employees any situation on which he/she have serious reasons to consider as a danger for the security and health of the employees, as well as any malfunctioning of the protection system;
– to inform the line manager and/or the employer about the accidents suffered;
– to cooperate with the employer and/or assigned employees in order to make possible the implementation of any measures or requirements of the law or related authorities;
– to cooperate with the employer and/or the related authorities in order to allow a work environment and work conditions without risks for security and health;
– to act, according to the procedures established at the work place, in case of occurrence of any imminent fire danger or other emergency situation;
– to provide to assigned persons all known data and information concerning occurred work accidents and/or fires.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
– A university degree in Engineering, preferably in Petroleum Engineering, or any other related discipline.
– Minimum 8 years of relevant Reservoir Engineering experience: reservoir evaluation, field development and reservoir management.
– Proficiency in spoken and written English.
– Ability to evaluate field development opportunities by integrating geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir, well & production facility data.
– Strong analytical approach in solving complex technical problems within a multi-disciplined environment.
– Proficient reporting and presentation skills.
– Ability to work within a cross-functional, multi-cultural team.
– Proficient in the use of the industry standard reservoir engineering software, such as MBal, Prosper, PVTP; Cristal Ball; Topaze;Saphir; Petrel RE; Eclipse or similar.
