The Role:
• To develop and manage the reservoir engineering of the Turkmenoi, Tasbulat and Aktas onshore oil fields and supervise the work of junior engineers and geoscientists in a multidiscipline Petroleum Engineering Team. The main product of the work will be company and ROK approved field redevelopment plans and the subsurface development of the fields.
• To plan and ensure the collection of reservoir engineering data (pressures, well testing, logging etc.) for the three fields and integration into data bases.
• To liaise with, and advise the Operations Department (Production and Drilling) on all petroleum engineering aspects of the TOC Field Development.
• To analyze the reservoir engineering data to predict field performance to prepare production forecasts and relevant budgets.
• To develop and update reservoir simulation models for the producing reservoirs and predict and forecast field performance.
• To develop the reservoir engineering aspects of a Field Redevelopment plans for the three fields including recommending and modeling new production and injection wells and injection parameters. In particular to deliver the reservoir engineering requirements of IGR 3 for the TOC Redevelopment by mid-2013. (Including new FDP)
• To plan, ensure and supervise the collection and interpretation of reservoir engineering data in any new wells.
• To work with the Production Technologists to plan, ensure and supervise the completions, recompletions or stimulation of any wells.
• To determine and report the reserves of the fields to both company and Republic of Kazakhstan (R.O.K) standards
• To ensure the ROK Technical schemes are updated and participate in the negotiation and defense of same.
• To present the results and recommendations of the Petroleum Engineering analysis of the fields to Peer Review Management, Auditors, Government Officials and other parties.
• To prepare budgets to carry out and complete the above work and present the budgets to Asset and Line Management
• To supervise, train and develop younger reservoir engineers and geoscience staff in the TOC team.
• To identify, evaluate and supervise contract personal to carry out parts of the above engineering work as necessary.
• To follow and ensure the relevant company and R.O.K Regulatory HSE standards are delivered.
• To carry out other petroleum engineering tasks as directed by the Line Manager including deputizing at times for the Line Manager.
Qualifications / profile
• University degree Bachelor in Petroleum Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Geoscience
• Relevant professional experience > 10 years
• Experience in oil field reservoir engineering in an operating company. 10 years experience in an operating company with reservoir modeling, well testing and production analysis software. EG Eclipse, Petrel, OFM etc.
