The Role:
• Senior Reservoir Geophysicist for Habban Field of the Yemen branch office. To provide reservoir geophysical expertise and latest industry techniques for integrative subsurface studies
and 3D static reservoir models which are the basis for the generation of new production drilling proposals or enhanced field recovery schemes in order to boost hydrocarbons production
and reserves.
• To screen Habban Field to identify opportunities for better reservoir characterization and ensure that all reservoir-geophysical aspects are performed to a high technical standard and in a cost efficient manner which will ultimately lead to good level production.
• Support the Petroleum Engineering Team in field development needs and tasks.
• Analyse & interpret 2D and 3D seismic datasets at regional and reservoir scale (structural and stratigraphic interpretation).
• Velocity model building, time to depth and depth to time conversion, mapping (structure, reservoir fairways, reservoir properties).
• Create and interpret seismic attributes (pre- and post-stack) for reservoir characterization.
• Apply modern geophysical concepts and seismic techniques to model complex reservoir architectures.
• Develop new integrative workflows for improved reservoir property modelling with geophysical input.
• Select appraisal and development well drilling locations and plan well path based on favourable seismic attributes, risk analysis.
• Wells geophysical follow up and post drilling analysis.
• Preparation of relevant parts of well programs in partnership in drilling and reservoir engineers.
• Contribute to multi-disciplinary field development studies, formulation and execution of agreed technical programmes.
• Planning and follow up geophysical studies (i.e. seismic inversion, frequency and resolution enhancement techniques).
• Coordinate with other departments for all the activities related to planning and executing seismic acquisition, processing and reprocessing.
• Work in close co-operation with geologist, reservoir and drilling engineers.
• Document technical work performed in the relevant systems (data bases, …)
• Connecting rock physical and geophysical reservoir parameters for a closed loop earth model approach
• Project management and organisational tasks:
• Work within interdisciplinary project groups and monitor project progress and costs.
• Coordinate / liaise with related disciplines, industry partners, branch office staff and contractors.
• Participate in data room visits, workshops, partner meetings, TCMs etc.
• Train junior branch office staff in using integrative geophysical reservoir techniques and applications.
• Dissemination of geophysical / seismic techniques and skills within the organisation
• Be responsible for health, safety security and protection of the environment at the workplace, participate in HSSE trainings according to competency maps, and contribute to integrate
HHSE into the company culture.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• University degree Master / Diploma in Geoscience/Geology
• Relevant professional experience > 10 years
• A minimum of 10 years experience, preferably with an Operator
• Experience in geophysicsal techniques, including seismic acquisition and processing, inversion, rock physics, interpretation, attribute analysis and reservoir characterization.
• Good understanding of prospect volumetrics and economics
• Expert in seismic interpretation related computer software packages (Petrel, Geoframe)
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary field development teams
• Fluent in english, Excellent communications and presentation skills
