The Role:
• Scope and write detailed project documents for assigned projects to in-house and/or 3rd party vendor teams.
• Take a hands-on approach to lead/provide engineering support for assigned projects to help ensure that these are delivered on-specs, on-time, and on-budget, for example:
a. Build, configure, test and review robotic systems and prototypes,
b. Design and debug control systems, sensors, and robotic bodies to ensure cost effectiveness, serviceability, sufficient strength, function, ease of assembly and manufacturability,
c. Conduct research into the design, operation, performance of robotic parts and systems,
d. Conduct research on robotic technology to create new robotic systems or system capabilities.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to find new solutions to, or resolve any and all technical issues relating to existing projects.
• Report to Research & Development Director and provide progress reports of all assigned projects in a timely manner.


• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechatronics and Robotics or Engineering or its equivalent from an accredited University/Institute of higher learning.
• Around 6 years’ relevant working experience with 3 years in lead and mentor role.
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks or any equivalent 3D modelling software.
• Strong software development skills in Java, ROS, C/C++ and Matlab.
• Design experience, preferably in Robotic Systems, and experience in navigation, manipulation, robot control or mechatronics will be advantageous.
• Have strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills.
• Willingness to continually review and improve processes to help increase team effectiveness and productivity.
• Team player with strong inter-personal, communication and presentation skills.
• Able to interact and work well with all levels of personnel.
• Able to lead and perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Able and willing to travel overseas for project work or for overseas postings.
