Our Client is the largest LNG producing company in the world, with an annual LNG production capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum (MTA), safely and reliably delivering LNG to customers around the globe from world-class facilities in Qatar.

The Role:
Basic Function and Scope:

The Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer is the technical expert on rotating mechanical equipment and package equipment. Oversees the FEED execution as well as EPC contractor's production of the required rotating equipment deliverables. Ensures the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Technical Specifications, for all rotating/package equipment are met. Assists with all aspects of rotating/package equipment selection, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up planning. Facilitates interfaces among the other Discipline Engineers of PMT and FEED and EPC contractor's organization with respect to rotating equipment issues. Ensure that the Rotating Equipment design meet the Project, safety, environmental, operational, quality, cost, design, and schedule objectives.

2. Tasks and Duties:

• Provide overall rotating equipment technical leadership and expertise
• Coordinate RLGAP engineering team members' involvement in rotating equipment activities, including interaction with FEED and EPC contractor's rotating equipment personnel
• Prepare and submit monthly progress data, including narratives, charts, graphs, etc. on rotating equipment issues to the Engineering Lead
• Provide rotating equipment input for Hazardous Operations (HAZOP) reviews
• Provide rotating equipment input for Risk Management activities, as appropriate
• Review Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) for safe and operable rotating equipment features
• Advise FEED and EPC contractor's rotating equipment activities with respect to:
 Equipment data sheet completeness and accuracy
 Rotating equipment engineering studies and analyses
 Inspection and test plans, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Integration Tests (SITs)
 Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project
 Field verifications and field information gathering trips
• Support Engineering Lead in coordinating/communicating various issues which affect the rotating equipment engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work.

• Evaluate / comment work performed by FEED/EPC Contractor and vendors to insure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, COMPANY standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of mechanical design drawings, documents, and specifications.

• Assist Engineering Lead in stewarding FEED/EPC contractor's activities with respect to Rotating equipment and package engineering execution including:

• Ensure that all affected parties are familiar with engineering execution plans, procedures, objectives, and overall job requirements.
• Ensure that the contractor staffs the project with adequate numbers of qualified personnel.
• Ensure that the contractor employs the appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software.
• Ensure that the contractor adheres to all appropriate specifications and standards.
• Ensure that the contractor provides all contract documents, including those referred to in the job spec.
• Reinforce the requirement for the contractor to control the work, i.e. accurate and timely progress measurement and reporting.

3. Work Contacts:

Internal: frequently in contact with all PMT members in ration to process, electrical, instrumentation and civil issues. Outside: frequent contacts with FEED and EPC contractor engineers and vendor engineers to discuss project details.

40% - walking and standing.

6. Work Environment:

40% - non air-conditioned environment, exposed to heat, humidity, noise and fumes.

7. Minimum Requirements:

a. Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering

b. Excellent understanding of Project Technical requirements

c. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

d. Excellent interpersonal skills

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
8. Experience

a. Minimum of fifteen (15) years broad experience in all project phases i.e. FEED, detailed engineering, and construction, would have at least five (10) years specific involvement in projects.

b. Experience with Rotating equipment packages and other vendor supplied packages, in particular refinery and petrochemical projects.

c. Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.

d. Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
