The Company:
Our client is a leading international energy providers operating both upstream and downstream facilities worldwide. At present they are undertaking pre-FEED and FEED activities towards the development and operation of a proposed floating liquefaction plant, which will utilise natural gas fields off North West of Western Australia.

The Role:
Our client is currently recruiting a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer who will be responsible for the management of mechanical rotating equipment and related packages. The successful candidate will be involved in the Pre-FEED and FEED engineering studies for offshore gas and condensate treatment, liquefaction process facilities, power generation and utilities.

The role consists of:

• Conduct and supervise conceptual mechanical engineering studies for pre-FEED and FEED for rotating equipment and related packages and utilities for all FLNG process and utilities facilities meeting specificities of modular design, offshore conditions and floating support specificities.
• Guarantee the technical assurance and provide technical expertise of assigned studies.
• Act as focal point and technical authority for rotating equipment/packages selection, engineering, installation and commissioning as well as applicable codes and standards and Owner’s specific design and/or quality control requirements during fabrication and installation, performances testing (FAT, SAT).
• Provide technical advice to management and other departments/divisions on the subjects of rotating equipment and packages layout, configuration, handling for installation and maintenance; Provide guidance and direction to engineering contractors.
• Monitor the performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions to avoid design deficiencies.
• Contribute to the Basis of Design and Project Specifications.
• Preparation of technical notes and presentations for reporting of study results.
• Accountable for scope of works preparation for mechanical engineering activities.
• Participate in the technical and safety related reviews and consolidate mechanical engineering opinions.
• Take part in the technical decision-making process.
• Contribute to project risk workshops and follow-up on relevant actions relating to risk responses action plan.
• Take part in internal and external communication.
• Contribute to improve skills, know-how, experience of direct reports and provide feed back and lessons learnt to Company head office.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Graduated/ Chartered engineer in Mechanical engineering.
• 15+ years experience and a minimum of 5 to 10 years in pre-FEED and FEED in a similar role.
• Operator experience would be an advantage.
• In depth technical knowledge of all type of mechanical drivers (gas turbines, steam turbines, engines, electric motors).
• Significant exposure to offshore O&G projects, FPSO and LNG projects; both in conceptual phase and detailed design.
• Good acumen of project economic matters.
