Our client is a leading global resources company. Across their global operations, they are one of the world's largest producers of the minerals and oil and gas that power the world. They have a huge portfolio of projects that continue to build on their strengths year by year.

The Role:
Our client is currently seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to work in their Australia Production Unit.

The right candidate will have a background in the petroleum industry with demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering techniques. To be based in their Perth office, the Senior Rotating Equipment will interface with other Surface Engineers, Operations & HSEC personnel, Central Engineering, and regulatory authorities, ensuring implementation of rotating equipment engineering excellence.

This role will be related to the client's upstream oil and gas production facilities with responsibilities including;

• Supporting a Zero Harm workplace and making HSE your first priority
• Serve as "System Custodian" for rotating equipment-related Safety Critical Systems
• Provide specialist engineering guidance and judgment in support of APU operations and maintenance
• Lead root cause analysis activities relating to safety critical equipment failures, production losses and equipment failures
• Optimise production through maximising efficiency and reliability of rotating equipment
• Create, review and/or approve engineering & maintenance change requests including participation in HAZID/HAZOP activities as required
• Oversee turbine fleet management and condition monitoring/lubrication programs for rotating equipment
• Maintain a working knowledge of relevant international technical standards
• Mentor less-experienced mechanical engineers in APU

A generous remuneration package is offered commensurate with experience, and includes up to 14% super, performance bonus incentive, an employee share plan and a market leading 18 weeks paid maternity leave as well as other benefits.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Extensive experience in rotating equipment operation and maintenance - at least 10 years experience.
• The successful candidate must have demonstrated leadership, teamwork and influencing skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of FPSO marine operations and broad inter-discipline skills are highly regarded
