The Role:
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Rotating equipment expertise, both process and mechanical:
- Act pro-actively as technical expert
- Implement a competence assessment and competence building program for rotating machinery operation for plant operators.
- Implement a competence assessment and competence building program for rotating machinery condition monitoring and maintenance for mechanical technicians.
- Lead or participate in rotating machinery reliability, safety assessment, RCAs etc.

• Rotating equipment revamp, retrofit, new build, commissioning, erection:
- Prepare and execute identified rotating equipment projects and studies identified within the UP200 improvement plan.
- Specify large rotating equipment (compressors, steam and gas turbines, gear boxes, pumps, fans etc.) including accessories like vibration monitoring, anti-surge systems etc. for new build projects.
- Conceptualize and draw design details on an autonomous basis with minor instructions and with missing information, for which experience based assumptions can be made
- Specify large rotating equipment (compressors, steam and gas turbines, gear boxes, pumps, fans…) including accessories like vibration monitoring, anti-surge systems… for revamp projects.
- Prepare and check datasheets and specifications, ensure compliance with regulation, codes and specifications.
- Coordinate checks of drawings and information from vendors within the automation discipline.
- Supervise balancing tests, surge tests, performance tests…

• Systematic maintenance of rotating equipment and RCM philosophy
- Asses site current systematic maintenance practices, propose recommendations/action plan to improve the machinery preventive and corrective maintenance at site. Follow the RCM program for rotating equipment hand in hand with local organization.
- Asses site condition monitoring program, propose recommendation/action plan to improve the rotating equipment condition monitoring practices. Follow through recommendation, hand in hand with local organization.
- Assess and review (if needed), together with local organization, the critical and capital spare part management system to ensure availability of critical spare parts at all time.

• Assume responsibility, along with other project team members, for meeting project Sponsor’s Objectives.

• Ability to function in a multi-disciplinary team and to fulfil different roles on different project teams.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- rights to work in T&T
- A B.Sc. In Engineering from an accredited Institution
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in an industrial environment dealing with rotating equipment
- Specific knowledge required for rotating equipment:
o Steam turbine both special purpose and standard
o Compressors (Centrifugal)
o Pumps
o Fans
o Gas Turbine (Process and power generator train)
o Expanders
- Machinery control and instrumentation knowledge is an asset
- Hands on (past experience of machinery overhauls supervision, commissioning required)
- Familiar with rotating equipment, construction, maintenance, operation, instrumentation on rotating equipment, PIDs, etc.
- Demonstrates high commitment / high sense of leadership and accountability
- Understanding / basic knowledge of chemical/thermo-dynamical processes
- Experience with large rotating equipment in heavy industries like petro-chemical industries, power plants…
- SAP Knowledge
