The Company:
Our client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from New Build, through Operations and Maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste disposal.

The Role:
Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Safety Consultant and a Lead Safety Consultant.

The Safety Consultant's will be required to undertaken profitable high value technical consultancy work. This will include:
• To undertake, organise and deliver high quality technical work to meet client’s needs, demands and expectations; leading and/or participating in the detailed provision of advice; and/or to become a recognised expert within a particular technical field and to be the chosen client focus for the given technical area.
• The Senior Consultant delivers a lead role in the day to day production of reports and studies, for a wide range of nuclear facilities, plant and operations in conjunction with the Principal Consultant.
• To support the Principal Consultant in providing guidance and mentoring for Graduate Consultants, Consultants and Lead Consultants under the leadership of a Principal Consultant.

The Lead/Senior Safety Consultant will be expected to have knowledge of and be able to specialise in some of the following:
• Shielding
• Human Factors
• Fire Engineering
• Nuclear Materials
• Engineering Substantiation
• Safety Case Management
• Radiation Damage

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum degree qualified or equivalent in an appropriate science or engineering discipline.
• Further degree, e.g. MSc, within a relevant field would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
• A full UK drivers licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices may be required.
• Ability to demonstrate a strong academic background and have developed an area of technical specialism.
• Prior SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) status may substitute for formal qualifications if demonstrable experience can be demonstrated.
