The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
• Support projects with respect to engineering the logic solver subsystem for the Safety Instrument System (the Safety System). This will be as a member of the project team and acting in a lead role, or overseeing and providing leadership to several projects.
• Ensuring that all work is performed according to the appropriate clauses associated with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 related to System Integration, and within the framework of the certified Functional Safety Management System.
• Reviewing client documentation and developing the Safety System Functional Design Specification and Detailed Design Specifications.
• Authoring and Reviewing Safety-related Project Documentation
• Producing / reviewing Safety System Hardware Drawings
• Specifying Safety System hardware including 3rd Party equipment to the required SIL
• Producing / reviewing Project Application code
• Authoring and Reviewing Test Specifications
• Participating in Module, Integrated, Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance Tests
• Reviewing Test Results
• Ensuring the Safety System is configured to specification, within the cost and schedule required by the contract.
• Managing internal and external changes
• Producing SIL Achievement Reports
• Meeting with clients in connection with the above activities.
• Attending Functional Safety Audits and Assessments
• Bid and Proposal support.
• Training will be given to those wishing to become TUV FSEng

The majority of work will be within the Engineering Facility at St Neots. However,
• Periods of time at clients’ offices may be required during specification phases.
• Periods of time may be required commissioning either on- or offshore.
• International travel may be required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Should be qualified to Honours level in an appropriate engineering discipline or have demonstrated that they have worked in a similar position for a minimum of 5 years.
• CEng would be an advantage
• TUV FSEng would be an advantage but training will be provided
• A minimum of 5 years working in Safety System Integration, including similar duties to those described above
• A minimum of 5 years working in the process industry sector, with experience in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals an advantage
• Should have been an Engineer on at least 2 safety-related projects in a lead role.
• Good Word 2003 / 2007 (at least one) skills are a requirement
• Good Excel 2003 / 2007 (at least one) skills are a requirement
• Should have experience working with engineering databases
• Must have experience / knowledge of industrial standards and guidelines, including, as appropriate, IEC, ISA, ATEX, EEMUA, etc
