The Company:
Our client, a major oil and gas operator, seeks a Project Controls Advisor to join their team.

The Role:
• Project Controls Advisor will be responsible for both cost and planning for the Stage 2 new platform project.
• Person should have a very strong background in planning and still willing to perform as a senior planner on the project.
• Must have excellent Primavera skills and have performed as a planner on major capital projects.
• Planning skills are more important than the cost skills in this particular assignment. In addition to a good planning background, this individual should have a good understanding of the cost side of Project Controls.

Duties:

• Develop, review, consolidate and refine cost estimates and forecasts
• Lead the development of cost breakdown structures
• Prepare monthly cash calls and expenditure forecasts;
• Ensure contractors have implemented effective financial controls
• Utilize cost programs for the tracking and control of budgets, commitments, accruals, expenditures and contingency drawdown
• Validate scope trends and estimated costs by utilizing the terms of the contract
• Identify project cost exposures and overrun risks in a timely manner to allow informed mitigation decisions and actions
• Monitor scope growth by comparing bid quantities with issued for construction quantities
• Develop and maintain a change management program.
• The Project Controls Advisor will need to be proficient in preparing a number of graphics and reports including monthly accrual, Work In Place (WIP), contingency drawdown, monthly percent complete and progress quantity curves.

Travel:

• International travel will likely be required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Science
• 15 to 20 years

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous major operator experience
