The Role:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, HESQ, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and support of all security matters relating to the facilities, assets and personnel including security/ emergency response and the Port Facility Security Plan. He/she will also be responsible for the personnel development and scheduling of all security/emergency response resources at the Point Lisas Site and other locations, as required.

Summary of key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Oversee and coordinate security efforts at the various locations, which will include day-to-day security business operations, executing existing programs, facilitating personnel security actions, scheduling of security resources and maintaining security systems.
• Coordinate and manage ISPS requirements.
• Review and assess security procedures, systems, requirements and contracts and make recommendations accordingly.
• Investigate all actual and suspected breaches of security and provide recommendations for preventing recurrence.
• Lead periodic safety/security drills for all employees and contractors.
• Data management and reporting on HESQ statistics.
• Lead and participate in audits and incident investigation.
• Function as the on-site Security liaison with external stakeholders which will include law enforcement and other related government agencies.
• Identify relevant training and development paths to improve security’s ability to support the future direction of the business.
• Assist with in-house training on HESQ matters.

The candidate will have an understanding of the OSH Act and other related governing regulations as well as working knowledge of:
• Laws of Trinidad & Tobago, Court Procedures and practices and
Supplemental Police Act
• Program security management and administration
• ISPS Code
• Use and handling of Firearms
• Electronic monitoring and access control systems
• ISO systems
• Occupational Health & Safety in Petrochemical industry
• Emergency Response Management in Petrochemical Plants

The successful candidate will be seen as a subject matter expert and must have the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.

Candidate Competencies:
The successful candidates will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and effectively handle multiple tasks within stipulated deadlines. They will project a professional image, be resourceful and have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) across all levels of the organization. The selected candidates will be organized individuals who can work a flexible schedule.

The successful candidates will also be functionally competent with Enterprise Resource Planning System (SAP preferred) as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Security Administration/ Management from a recognized institution, with at least ten years’ experience in the security management field and at least five years’ senior supervisory experience. He/she must be a holder of a Firearm User’s License. A bachelor degree in an applicable field would be an asset.
