The Company:
Our client is a major international oil and gas operator and to assist in an uplift of work in the Qatar office we are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Strategic Buyer to support the contracting of equipment and services. The position belongs to the Contracts section of the Procurement & Logistics department.

The Role:
Job description:

- Execute tenders to support the company’s plans; creating strategies, risk analyses, preparing tender documentation, analysing bids, coordinating clarifications, negotiating, establishing contracts.
- Manage relationships with global and local stakeholders: technical customer departments, the Global Procurement office, quality control, legal, procurement and vendors.
- Ensure satisfactory knowledge of all tender procedures, governance requirements, as well as customer departments’ requirements (quantity, quality and delivery time requirements).
- Initiate collection of information to understand, plan and prioritize tender execution based on customer departments’ and tender procedures requirements.
- Proactively engage in continuous vendor performance management and participate in vendor audits when required.
- Proactively communicate with stakeholders to ensure they are duly updated.
- Ensure compliance of all tasks with relevant procedures and corporate standards.
- Demonstrate cost awareness.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The idea candidate will have the following skills:

- 5 to 7 years experience in preparation of tenders, contracts and contract administration, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience from working in a multi-national and within a multi-cultural environment is preferred; GCC experience is an advantage.
- Bachelor / Diploma certificate in a commercial and/or technical discipline.
- Good technical knowledge in reviewing and finalising technical Contracts.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Strong customer focus is a key to successful interactions with a diverse group of stakeholders and to drive change.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written (English).
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Independent and a self-starter, must be able to work well under pressure.
- Good commercial acumen and knowledge of procurement processes in the Oil and Gas industry.
