The Company:
Our Client is an International Oil and Gas Operator involved in 2 of Australia's largest LNG Projects based in Western Australia. The Role:
The Senior Piping Stress Engineer is required to support the FST (Follow on Support Team) for the Gorgon project. More specifically the majority of the work will be in support for the BWI Construction team and to assist in maintaining the schedule and first gas. Applicants are required to work with minimum supervision on TQ’s RFI’s or small projects with in the Gas plant and produce all the necessary deliverables associated with the assigned work.

The FST team’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all necessary Requests For Information (RFI’s) and Technical Queries (TQ’s) are responded to and delivered in a timely and cost effective manner to support the construction schedule. Where applicable, design and deliver upgrades to the current permanent works for 3 x 5 MTPA LNG Trains and associated infrastructure situated on Barrow Island.

The FST group is responsible for:
• Supporting construction – responding to RFI’s TQ’s on BWI
• Supporting Commissioning on BWI.
• Providing technical support to the module yards and respond to TQ’s.
• Design and implementation of ongoing works associated with plant.

The Senior Piping Stress Engineer will be required to:
• Carry out AIV /FIV Assessment and provide solutions where required
• Carry out pipe stress calculations to project procedures.
• Check and approve equipment nozzle loading using FEA.
• Confirm previous pipe stress audit actions have been properly close out.
• Approve and sign off modified piping isometrics.
• Willingness to visit site if required.
• Check other pipe stress engineers work, and give guidance where required.

Preferred Skills
• Good general computing skills including excel required. Be updated with latest industrial practice.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The following minimum qualities/experience required:
The ability to work within a small team (Piping stress Group) with minimum supervision.
• 3 to 5 years minimum experience with LNG Cryogenic piping experience being highly regarded.
• Minimum 20 years’ working experience with Oil & Gas industry required.
• Minimum 10 years working experience in Caesar2 pipe stress software is required.
• Familiar with AIV / FIV assessment and mitigation.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 Piping code..
• Pervious work experience with Oil &Gas construction phase highly regarded.
• A demonstrable competency in Caesar 2 pipe stress software and FEA tools such as Nozzle Pro. Navis Works and or Aveva review is also preferable.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering chartered engineer status.
• Excellent communication skills and show commitment to safety.
