The Role:
The successful candidate will be required to deliver discipline specific design and drafting services that meet our client’s applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. You will also be required to initiate, manage and if required supervise, design and draft assignments on project requirements, within budget and deadlines.

The role will involve performing discipline specific design and drafting services including:
• Ensuring the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management processes
• If required, participate in studies and analyses and recommend actions
• Prepare and oversee the production of engineering models, drawings and documentation
• Ensure all models, drawings and documents are checked in accordance with the company’s checking procedures
• Participate in project reviews as required

Other tasks will include:
• Providing technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and project teams
• Participating in peer reviews and consult relevant resources as required
• Communicating effectively with the discipline team, clients and other project stakeholders by making presentations as required
• If required act as the Discipline Lead on specific projects
• Establish and maintain good working relationships within the company, clients and other stakeholders
• Proactively resolve any discrepancies between the company and the client’s requirements
• Identify issues and problems
• Develop appropriate and innovative solutions
• Ask for assistance if required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
• A minimum of 10 years experience in structural design of mining and/or oil and gas facilities
• Previous experience in design of materials handling systems for mining projects - conveyors, chutes, hoppers, crushers, transfer stations and the like
• Solid experience in the use of AutoCAD and ProSteel for 3D structural modelling
