The Role:
• Ensure that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with in accordance with agreed procedures & standards. Ensure that the Client business drivers and client performance incentives are understood & complied with.
• Maintain technical integrity.
• Production of cost effective Structural engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks and design books in conjunction with other members of the project team in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support the Lead Engineer in department activities.
• Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
• Supervision of assigned discipline personnel including discipline Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Designers.
• Give technical direction and guidance to engineering and design personnel

Main Duties:
• Ensure that the technical competence of Civil/Structural personnel under their supervision is matched to the work in hand
• Ensure that the work output of Civil/Structural personnel under their supervision complies with the relevant client, Client, national & international standards & procedures. This will generally be achieved by applying the client checking & approval procedure for all created documents, & calculations.
• Provide technical assistance to Civil/Structural personnel as required. This will include developing the knowledge and skills of the Civil/Structural personnel, including mentoring.
• Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
• Be conversant and knowledgeable with respect to current and new legislation and standards e.g., BS, API and Client codes and standards, DCR and HS&E Regulations and EU Directives
• Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and fabrication estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules.
• Ensure that results of any development work are fully utilised in Civil activities
• Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required
• Providing documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in workpacks , design books and Calculations Reports on time to meet project deadlines
• Producing cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe
• Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required
• Assist the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
• Shall take into account all aspects of the "Health and Safety at Work etc. Act (1974)", Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures.
• Comply with the client Safety Management System
• Take part and contribute to construction risk assessments and construction method statements
• Take into account all relevant procedures, guidance etc. relating to the work, which will ensure compliance with client Safety Management System

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
For Structural Engineer
•Degree or equivalent in an Structural engineering discipline
•Chartered
•Sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect these in various engineering projects from concept to detailed design.
•Knowledge & practical application of some or all of the following engineering topics:
•Greenfield & Brownfield Topsides modifications
•Use of STAAD analysis package
•Current engineering design codes including AISC
Skilled engineer in offshore Oil & Gas projects and having an awareness of the petrochemical industry.
•Relevant experience should be in the development of a sound knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to reflect these in engineering projects from conceptual to detailed engineering stages.
•For non graduate personnel, a career progression from Structural designer to Senior Structural Engineer.
•Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be essential
